UK version of Hulu?

Is there a streaming video site for British tv programs that you can watch from the US? We just dropped cable tv and bought a Roku. Even though I can download anything I want we wouldn't mind paying for a decent stream just for the sake of convenience. TIA

As far as I know, there isn't a Hulu equivalent

There are things like BBC iPlayer and 4 On Demand for catching up on TV shows from specific channels, but as far as I know, these are only accessible from within the UK.

I've noticed that you can buy episodes of TV shows from iTunes. Have seen a number of British shows being advertised on iTunes, but not sure how big the range is

There are then of course various websites which link you to various video websites that allow you to watch different shows but as far as I've seen, they're directed more to american TV shows again. And I'm pretty sure they're illegal too, but I have no idea...

I hope somebody else can offer you more advice that what I have
