UK Ultimate Tickets help!

Hi there!

I'm planning our biggest trip yet, with 7 people living in 4 cities, some on their 9th visit, others on their 1st!

We'll all be getting the 14 day ultimate tickets Disney makes available to UK guests, but I need to upgrade mine to an Annual Pass because I'm going back within a year so financially it makes sense.

Can this be done? I've read it can be done State-side, but what are the restrictions? Does it have to be upgraded before I've used any entries? Can it only be done at parks or could it be done over the phone or the resort?

Any help and clarification would be greatly appreciated!

The person you want to talk to here on the DIS is Cheshire Figment who will have all the latest information but from what I understand (because this was something I was considering) you can upgrade to an AP at any time, but if you use the Ultimate ticket before upgrading it will be backdated to the date of first use. Also, if you use any of the extra elements included in the Ultimate Ticket eg. You go to Disney Quest or a Water Park before upgrading you HAVE to upgrade to the premium pass, not the standard 4 park AP.

When we went I just bought everyone in our family they ultimate ticket and then myself separately an annual pass and collected it from will call on my way in. We only went to a water park once so on that day I just bought a one day ticket for that and had the non premium annual pass.

Worked out cheaper to buy Ultimates then upgrade to AP but it was hassle getting the price I wanted.
Far easier to just buy AP in the first place. On the plus side the AP started from day we upgraded rather than backdating to day I started the Ultimates.

An ultimate ticket can be upgraded to an AP. It has to be done at a guest relations office or ticket window. This can be at the parks or DTD.

You can use it before upgrading or after. If you do use and only want a standard AP do not use it for anything other than entering the main parks.

You will get different prices offered as Wayne's trip report shows so you will need to shop around.

remember to compare apples to apples..
the UK ultimates provide unlimited access to all parks, including waterparks and disneyquest..

the regular AP only gets you into the 4 main parks..
you have to get the PAP for entrance to the water parks and disneyquest in addition to the 4 main parks...

so if you need the PAP, compare the price of the PAP to the purchase of two 14 day ultimates..

that is, unless you're planning on going 3 times...then it's a no brainer..
