If you havent checked out the UK DVC board recently, you might be interested to know that its now possible to put rent / trade posts there.
Whats a rent / trade post? you may ask! Well, DVC members may have too many vacation points for their own personal use in some years, and they can then offer them for rent to others. This can be a great way for non-DVC members to stay in DVC accommodation for a lot less than the rack rate for those home-away-from-home resorts. Of course, it works both ways DVC members renting out points are able to recoup some of the costs for spare points on which they are still paying maintenance charges. It can be a win / win situation when it works well!
In the past, it has been difficult for UK rent / traders to try to match up with other UK members because the main DVC rent / trade board is, naturally enough, mainly used by those in the US. Whilst that hasnt prevented some successful transactions across the Atlantic, it is much easier in practical terms if a match can be found between UK DISers.
Whilst the DIS cannot endorse or get involved in any transactions that might come about as a result of posts made on the boards, were happy to see posts both by those advertising points for rent and by those seeking to rent points.
