My DS is in Crete, Greece for the summer with his college digging for pottery. He leaves August 15th and heads (slowly with DH touring) to GLASGOW. He will be attending the University of Glasgow, Scotland studying ART HISTORY for a semester of overseas studies. He is like soooooo pumped. He just called me now (from Crete) saying that when his "older" DS comes to visit during OUR Thanksgiving week Nov 19-26 he wants to BUY Manchester United tickets for the game on the 26th. I told him older DS has to come home (older DS is in college getting a MASTERS) (fly out) that Sunday the 26th...he will have classes the evening of the 27th in the US. Younger DS is all MAD saying the tickets will be allllll sold and none to get, and difficult to get!! I said how much are they and he says $100.00 each...! I told DS that older works and has to #1 get back for work and #2 has evening classes...I told DS that older is MISSING a few classes to spend the week w/you (the mon-wed before Thanksgiving).....

ANYWAY...are these Manchester United tickets reallllly hard to come by? Do they sell out all that quickly? After all this game DS is talking about is FOUR MONTHS AWAY! How long does it take to get from Glasgow to Manchester, or wherever it is MannyU plays their games? :confused3

My DS' saw them play here in the USA in NYC last summer and LOVED  every single minute of it and they are HUGE ENORMOUS MannyU fans and it would be a dream to see them...buy younger DS is all in my face about buying these tix NOW!!! :furious:

Game on the 26th November is against Chelsea - this will be a BIG game and so very popular.

Tickets for the game go on sale on 13th October, although with the number of ManU season ticket holders and members the quantity of tickets available for general sale may be limited!

Ticket prices are £23 (~$39) to £37 (~$63) depending where you are seating in the ground.

Check out the ManU website for more details:

You can fly from Glasgow to Manchester. It takes around an hour. Looking at prices for November the cheapest fare is can be as low as £3 ($5) plus tax each way! although you will need to book a long time in advance to get the cheapest fares - they go up the nearer you get to the departure date. Check out the BMIBaby website for more details:

You can also go by bus - National Express (like Greyhound in the US) run a service which takes around 5 hours for around £29 ($50):

National Express

Driving in a car from Glasgow to Manchester would take around 4 hours - traffic permitting!! (around 213 miles).

Hope that helps :)

Paulh

why doesn't he try and go to one of the premiership matches in Scotland or one of the big International Rugby Games at Murrayfield.

just a wee suggestion ;)

THANKS THANKS THANKS :thanks: all for your replies. Please I love all these suggestions because I KNOW NOTHING about it at all....Just like my son saying the tickets are going fast for the November game....BUSTED, as Goofyish has said they do NOT go on sale until October...so sonny, you are in big trouble...he has no idea I have this option to contact you all in the UK and set the record STRAIGHT.. :lmao:

Also, like PAUL said they will undoubtedly be so very hard to come by.

And I like ALI's suggestion about the Rugby games right in Scotland where he will BE!!!

The UK :disrocks: :jumping1: Please UK, keep the ideas coming.

LOVE THEM ALL  !!!
