Hiya everyone
Just wondering if you had your wedding at disney who did you book with and was it ok? I mean was it extra stressfull because it was in US or a bit easier? ITs just we wont be able to visit before the wedding and someone said that might be a bit of bother because we wouldnt see the venue until the wedding week

Thanks :)

hi :wave2:
i can't help with your question just want to wish you congratulations :cheer2: we are getting married next year and we are booking direct with disney, i have heard of uk brides having no trouble with their wedding planning from over here, have you looked at the disney weddings web site it shows the locations?we are going for yatch club gazzebo or sunset point :cheer2:

Well I'm not from over seas But I did thouroghly look through the DFTW Website prior to visiting the venue and I have to say the pictures didnt do entierly justice. At least for the wedding pavillion.
The photos they have posted arnt overly dramatized it really is that beautiful.
Hope I could be of some help. Good luck!! :thumbsup2

I have booked direct with Disney and between the sales consultants there and this board i have had no problems whatso ever! Im having a custom wedding so i booked 1 year out and the sales manager i booked with gave me her email address and i have been able to email her with any questions that i have had and they have been great at responding, they are able to send pictures etc to help. Also this board really helps, as there are plenty of people doing the same things - they usually have pics that can help too.

Are you having a custom or intimate wedding? Where are you planning on having the wedding, im sure some people on here would be able to help with pics of the venue!

i booked from the UK and wished i'd booked direct with disney for our intimate. i actually booked with virgin weddings (and although other people have had no problem with them) they caused us no end of problems. i think their major problem is that theyre ok if you just want to book their package and not add anything or ask anything or have any contact with them basically, but if you do want to have some say in your wedding, thats where they mess up. they actually cancelled our wedding at one point, and cancelled the photo package that i'd booked direct with disney, nearly losing us our MK photo shoot (disney sorted that one out for us).
my recommendation is that you book direct with disney cos it avoids having to go through a "middleman"

Thanks guys
I had heard that about Virgin not with Disney but Mexico and was a bit worried whether or not to go ahead with it but I am just going to stick with Disney now. We are having an intimate at the Wedding Pavillion - not until august 2008 but want to get my head around it all!
This board has been brilliant so far so glad I found it!

i think for the WP you can book 8 months out from your intended date, so make sure to call exactly 8 months out if you have your heart set on a specific date or time.
the venue is gorgeous, theres some photos of my wedding in the link at the bottom of my posts. if you have any questions you would like answered, feel free to PM me, ive been there and done it!!

aw karen your pictures are amazing! Iv never seen anyone get married in a kilt in disney and was wondering about it as Chirs and all the men want to wear kilts im so excited now! want to get married now!!!
who did your pictures they are brilliant!

i went with disney photography, we had a guy called tim vickery, he was great, really nice guy, we had him for both our wedding and our MK shoot 2 days later. we had all the photos back by 6pm on the day of the MK shoot. he even gave us a great enlargement of one of the MK photos with a nice handwritten note to us. lovely guy

We plan to get married at Disney in May 2007. From reading the comments in here, we were not keen to book the wedding through Virgin. We have holidayed with Virgin several times and they have usually been good, but don't want to risk anything with the wedding.

We currently plan to book a flydrive with Virgin, then go to Disney directly for hotel rooms and wedding - felt the best for us.

We had a beautiful wedding just last wednesday at the Yacht club gazebo, and it was just wonderful!
I am from the UK. I booked with Disney directly and had a few problems that made me almost cancel, but I am glad I carried on with my plans, and I have to say it was just too magical, and worked out just beautifully on the day.
I had 15 guests travel with me and they all said it was just the best wedding ever!
To see the little ones' faces as Minnie & Mickey joined us for the cake cutting was superb and I will treasure that forever.
What ever happens, you will enjoy your day!
I am now hooneymooning in St Petersburg but am travelling back to Disney for my last night tomorrow before travelling home to the UK.

Janine!!!!! I am soooo happy for you. I can't wait to hear about your wedding and view your pics. Congrats on a beautiful day! =)

congrats janine :cheer2: can't wait to hear all about it when return :)

Janine - I'm so pleased it all worked out. I can't wait to see your photo's and hear more details. Enjoy the rest of your trip. Best Wishes. x
