Good morning.
Last few visits we have just used my blue badge onsite and not needed to convert to an american hangtag.
After reading we can park free in valet parking we ve decided to get a hangtag too.
Could anyone please point me in the right direction to how i apply for 1 before travelling??
Thank you so much

It is usually handled at the local or state level and procedures vary by state. If Florida is your only location for visiting, I would suggest contacting them for how to proceed.

You don't need a hangtag. Your properly-displayed blue badge should be sufficient.sufficient

everywhere in Orange County that issues disability parking permits requires the applicant to be a county resident.

Here is the link to the applicable page on Florida's DMV site:
https://www.flhsmv.gov/motor-vehicl...-person-parking-permits-for-florida-visitors/

The way I read it, if your badge has the standard international symbol, it looks like it should be sufficient, otherwise, you can apply for one by mail or in person, but read through it to make sure what you have is what you need.

That's how I read it too - we have an Australian one which I'm expecting that we will be ok to use.

ETA: This site may help too for a clearer explanation: http://www.disabledmotorists.eu/en/world_map/united_states_of_america/

So I always go for the tag as it means I don't have to take my bluebadge with me and risk leaving it in the car. Here's the website with the form http://www.octaxcol.com/disabled-parking-placards/

If you email AJReyes@octaxcol.com and ask them what you need to complete they will send you the form and further info.

I know there's a form you fill in plus scans of your blue badge and passport but can't remember if there was anything else.

About 8 weeks before your trip you have to phone to pay the $15 and then they ship the pass out. Its always arrived quickly

You can however use the Blue badge without any problems. As said I get this just because it means I'm less likely to loose my Blue Badge by leaving it in a rental car.

Ty for your responses.
Does anyone know if we can park at deluxes free of charge with a blue badge or do we need a hang tag?
Can we only park valet if we have an onsite adr? Thinking about going to boardwalk just to mooch can we park without an adr...??
Tyvm

Except valet, resort parking fees are charged for overnight parking, not day guests. That said, many of the deluxe resorts may restrict parking to resort guests with a reservation at that resort or guests with an ADR (which will be limited to 3 hours). Others may be turned away. Boardwalk is a resort with limited parking, so i’d be prepared to get there by other means if you won’t have an ADR.

Enjoy your vacation!
