We leave for our big, first trip to DLR on Thursday morning - flying all the way from Boston. Murphy's law, DBF sprained his ankle today. If he's hurting tomorrow he'll try and get into the dr's office, but what happens when we get to Cali? What if he's on crutches? Or just in a walking cast? Or just hobbling along in pain? We're staying at DLH if that changes things. Should I call the hotel ahead if time?

Rent a wheelchair or scooter! (scooters involve a learning curve to drive and are more money, but YOU won't end up with a horribly sore back from pushing him up the hills of DLR all trip long)

That's just in case he's in a lot of pain while walking. There's no way I would use crutches at Disney. The underarm pain, the back pain, and where do you put them on rides?

Rent a scooter off-site so he can drive it right to the hotel. It's also cheaper than the DLR scooters which are big and clunky.

With a scooter, your biggest challenge will be trying to keep up with him, instead of taking it slow and easy as he gets more tired by the hour.

With 36 hours left to go, where do I rent a wheelchair? I've never had this situation so I don't even know how to approach getting on lines with one.

I spent months on our touring plans and now I've been thrown for a loop! I really hope I can be a fastpass runner crossing to the opposite park while he stays put in one most of the day.

Sorry idk but try posting on the disABILITIES board here on the disboards, they've got all kinds of wheelchair/scooter info & maybe someone over there can help with general wheelchair park touting info as well. (You'll definitely want something available out of the parks because it's a long slog from DLH to the parks when injured.)

Park *TOURING* sorry can't don't know how to edit posts on the DIS app...

Apple Scooter has them at very reasonable rental prices. I reserved one for my upcoming trip for around $100 for five days. They deliver to and pick up from your hotel.

Deckerts is also a good place.

Apple you can reserve online. Decker ya you need to call.

Thanks, everyone. DLH does have some to rent to hotel guests so we're going to check out that situation as soon as we check in. Luckily we won't be doing any parks on check in day. Deckerts is my back up.

I use Apple scooter every time. you can reserve online. I have found that they have one of the best rates.
