So we had our last trip in May, 10 days with DW, DD(3) and my parents (way too long of a trip with my parents!) but it was fun and even though Hannah, our DD, was a little to young we had a great time and she asks all the time when we are going back, we've talked about doing a Disney cruise in a couple years and Hannah asks now when we;re going on the "Disney Boat" but since our last trip I really havnt been on the DIS much and really havent thought much about Disney, I was kinda thinking I was growing out of my Disney obsession... well I think that DISbug has bit me cause I'm really starting to want to go back, I don't know if it's the snow here or what but my DW is worried, I just put up a bunch of pics from our trip on our screen saver and last night I told her "I think I'm getting that Disney bug again" she looked over at the computer and the screen saver was going and she said with a desperate voice "You need to take those pictures off there, you can't look at them!" She also noticed I've been on my Disney web sites again, how can I controll the urges! Someone please help me!:scared:

I wish my husband would get the Disney bug. He likes to go, but never wants tot spend the $, and actually thinks we should visit ...... other places???????? Like where? We have a 3 year old dd.... we live in Jersey, so we take her to the beach and sesame place.... where else could we possibly go? The urge comes and goes for me, but we have been there with our dd twice already and we are going again in Feb., so I am no help. I was amazed that I got through my free dining urge in September and my MVMCP urge through the holidays, but life got stressful around here and dh gave in and now we are going in Feb.. I am no help!!! We were planning on doing every other year and the longest we've made it without going is 14 months. I just love it, and I am very persuasive!!! :rolleyes1 :goodvibes

The only way to control the urges is to pacify them by starting to plan your next trip! Sorry, I'm no help, I'm the one who gets the bug and I have to convince my hubby we should go back. I posted a few days ago that I just got him to relent and say we could go back in spring '09.

Our latest trip was in October 2007, and we had the itch before we unpacked. Problem is that DH and I are getting the itch at the same time, and we're trying desperately not to go back until late 2009. I'm back in school full-time, and tuition is not cheap. Trying to find things to do closer to home, but everything's pricing out near what we'd spend on a budget Disney trip. What is it that they put in that water? ;)

The urge is uncontrollable. Just give into. I start planning our next trip with in a week of getting back.

No help here either. I just called my DW and started giving her quotes and dates. She said she wants to go but wants a concrete plan and figures. Well it is Disney so I guess that is a reasonable expectation.

I am preparing a spreadsheet for her

The disney bug strikes again

This sounds like something my DH will be saying next year as we are going this May with our DD (Hannah) who will be too young to remember the trip and his parents for a week and mine for 5 days ( I know by the time we come back we'll be saying that the parents were there too long with us too:laughing: ). He's a Disney nut too and I KNOW he'll be in your shoes next year.

Had the itch since return in June 07. Planning to go in
June 09. DS will be 15 and talks about it constantly,
he keeps telling me that he is going to do up our plan
just like Tour Guide Mike and The Unoffical Guide.

DS cannot get enough Disney. He reads every book he
can get his hands on and watches every TV Show about
WDW that comes on Travel Channel and has already
watched the 08 Guide DVD at least 10 times.

I guess we have the itch REAL BAD.

:rotfl: :yay: :rotfl: :yay:

Sorry, I can't help much either. We returned home from our last trip on 7/2/07. I figured that is it for a while. We never go to WDW that often. All of a sudden, it was the beginning of February, it was cold here, lots of stuff going on with the extended family, etc. I was playing on the computer, looking at prices one day 'just for kicks' and somehow I ended up with a trip booked...not really sure how it happened :rotfl2:

This is the only way I could do it! DH didn't want to spend the money (even though he is just as excited as the rest of us to go!), so when I found out that we were getting a tax rebate check for overpaying our property taxes last year, I booked the trip (just a long weekend, we live only 3 hrs from Disney) and then told him about it! No argument that way!

I wish my DH had the "Disney Bug" too. He has the TCA BUG( Train Collectors Assc.) plans his trips Bi-yearly a full year in advance. HIS PERSONAL VACATION. My DD and DS are like me and are ready to go back before we get to the airport even.
I had hoped this year we would do 2 trips( March and June) but finances would not allow that. Somehow we will make the JUNE visit... may just have to sell some of my Hubby's train collection off while he is AWAY on his "Vacation" in April to fund the Disney FAMILY vacation. I mean After all
what's more important?? Family time... or some "Toys" that just tear up and collect dust ?? :goodvibes

If I choose carefully... he might not notice that he is missing 3-5 locomotives till we get back from WDW and then I could say... " You know something... I think we were robbed... funny though they left all the Valuables ( Tv's jewelry).. just took some trains... Do your OGR Buddies know where we live ??"

On second thought I had better keep my mouth shut.... and act worried.. or he'll smell a rat... or at least a "mouse":mickeyjum

I just told my wife the other day that I can wait to go back with out my folks, I feel so guilty saying that but the days we enjoyed the most were the times we split up. I would recomend planning personal family time just your and your kids, like a character breakfast, or trip to the water parks... I think we just got grandparent overload, mainly bc my dad is so hyper and the grandparents tend to want to hog their only grandchild which I totally understand but part of the magic of enjoying disney is seeing your kids have fun... I hope I dont sound disrespectful. I totally loved going with my parents and was thankful because they paid for most of the trip, I would love to go with them again some time but we just like our own private vacation time too, my wife and I work opposite shifts and only have one day off a week together so vacations are a time when we get to spend time to together. I think I might start a new thread about this... I'll post a link when I do.

LOL I am going through the exact same thing. Our last trip was 5 months ago and I hadn't been on the Dis much until last week. Now I am on constantly. I even put in a pic of tomorrowland with the castle in the background as my desktop and I just sit and stare at it. Is that wrong? :lmao:
Our trip won't be until Nov. so I have a loooong way to go!

Funny how that works, isn't it? I was on here all day, every day when I was planning my vacation last year. I came back, made a few posts, and then didn't come back until a few weeks ago. I was reading stuff for about a week and then that urge just came over me. Now I'm going back and I am here on and off again all day.

I see nothing wrong with it...really...:surfweb:  :rotfl2:

I was still in Florida this time of day, exactly 3 weeks ago, lol. And I'm online now planning to go back in fall. :) I totally understand. My spouse doesn't want to go back yet, so he's....ummm....staying home and I'm still going with the kids.

It's not wrong... that's the way it should be. Wanting to be in a place that makes you happy. It makes my dd so happy it was the inspiration for a winning song composition for her in school last year.

The schools PTA's have an "Arts" expression contest they call "Reflections".
My DD was the STATE WINNER for her song.. "MY favorite Place to be... Walt Disney World with my Family.":grouphug:

REALLY MAKES A DM PROUD !!! :goodvibes

Now if I could just get a Free Disney Vacation out of her song !!!:yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

I am trying to convince my husband that I should take my 5 year old alone in September for his birthday. "It's his last chance before kindergarten to go in the slow season." How's that for an excuse!
