I made a last minute ADR and forgot to change the party size from 2 to 3. I got a great time and booked it. I noticed the error and went to see if I could get another ADR with 3.... sold out. I really don't want to lose the ADR. What would happen if we showed up with 3 people when our ADR says 2?

Don't worry about it, it will be fine. Last month I thought I had an ADR for 4 at Ohana when it was only for 2. The CM's at Ohana didn't bat an eye.

I would call Disney Dining and see if you can add 1 to the reservation. They were able to do that for me for a number of my reservations (going from 4 to 5) when my brother decided to join us for a few days.

Great! I'll call them a little later and see what they can do.

How did it work out? I just realized I did the same thing on one of my ressies and of course they don't have a similiar time (online) for a party of 3. Just wondering how it went when you called.

I did that last year, when we took our INFANT granddaughter (last minute). We didn't think we needed to add her because she wasn't eating and would not take up a chair. We were told that even though she wasn't eating and wasn't taking up a seat, she still counted because of the FIRE CODE. If the resturant is sold out, then you will not be able to add another person. No matter what. Sorry.
It is the law.
Disney was very nice about it, and I understood the why.

BTW: We could not change our Chef Mickey's or O'hana's. It was a busy time of the year, and there were no openings, not even for one little person.

I would try to add the extra person. The CM may be able to add one. Some restaurants do not even have two tops. They give you a four top for a party of two, so adding a person is no biggie. It may show no availibility for an additional three, because you have that table booked with your original two reservation. If you keep trying and a person cannot be added, I would chance walking up to the restaurant and trying to get it anyway. I know there is a fire code, but people do no show and cancel at the last minute.
