Uh-oh...I made a mistake...

I have 125 points that I have to bank by tomorrow. We have an additional 69 points from 2000 (all 194 are from a resale purchase) that we can't bank and are planning a Concierge Collection weekend (we hope). We didn't want to use the one time banking option.

When I tried to make my ressie for BWV for the week after Thanksgiving, I only got two days, standard view (wanted preferred)...the weekend days, for 109 points. She said to me "you have 125 points that you can bank from 2000...do you want to bank them now?" Without even thinking, I said "no" because I knew that I would be planning this other CC trip with the 69 points, and didn't have any idea how many points we would need. This was all new to me, and I made the BWV ressie the day my membership # became available.

Now, my problem. We need 66 points for our CC trip (if that works out--didn't make ressie yet), so we're going to lose 3. Fine. But if I get standard view at BWV for those other 5 days, I will need only 120 points, and NOT the 125 points from 2000 that I'm banking. And I really don't want to lose another bunch of points.

What I should have done was banked the 125 points, and if I needed any more for the CC trip, borrowed them from 2001. I know that now, but my thinking on this whole thing was a lot less clear back then.

So, can I get MS to change it so I can use those 125 points first? Or is this written in stone now? (I only really realized all this when I read another thread on this board today.) Can I plead insanity? Stupidity? Newbie? <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused">

Call MS..if you're not past your banking window, you can bank/borrow and have them reallocate points etc. I have done this in the past. I have also found that MS is very easy to work with and if you explain your situation they will also help you understand the best way to use your points. Good luck!

I'm not quite getting what you're asking...I do think you can call and request that specific points be used for your ressie.

As far as your juggling of points I'm not sure if I'm understanding you.....

OK, let me simplify. That was a little "wordy" above--one of my biggest faults.

Purchased resale in mid-Feb, 250 pts BWV, 194 pts from 2000; can bank 1/2 (125) by tomorrow to use in '01.

When I made my ressie for BWV for the week after Thanksgiving, I used 109 points from 2001; hadn't banked the '00 points yet. To complete my ressie for that week (I'm on a waitlist)--I only need 120 points, from the '00 points. That leaves 5 points from '00 that I'd have to use in 2001, or lose.

Peggy Sue, I'm going to call and see what I can swing. Let ya know.

ooh, yes I see what you're saying! My mind is easily confused...(no one ever tells you that a nursing baby sucks out brain cells!)

Definitely get those points banked! You should be able to allocate them to your ressie...I'm sure ms will help you out.

Just called MS (literally fell asleep waiting for someone to come on the line ), spoke with Jean, and she was sssooo nice! She banked my 125 points from 2000, and reallocated the points that I used for November from 109 2001 points to 109 banked 2000 points.

OK, I'm getting a little more comfortable with this whole DVC thing.

I'm surprised that they didn't use the 2000 points for your September reservation to begin with. I thought it was a MS policy to use the oldest points first.

As I stated above, they weren't banked yet. We hadn't yet made our Concierge Collection ressie, and didn't know how many points we needed for it.
