Uh Oh...he's figured out how to move!

I bet he's going to be "all boy."

My boy doesn't sit still for a minute. He is constantly on the go. I wish I had a way of draining some of his energy and giving it to myself.

And wait until one day you look over at him in his crib and he is just sitting there!

DMIL thinks he's going to be an early sitter as when he is laying on his back or sitting on somebody's lap, if he's not eating he's doing 'crunches' where he pulls his knees into his chest and then flings them out just any ol' place. Then he attempts to do the same thing only in reverse, pulling his chest forward onto his lap before throwing himself backwards.

He also seems to be taking after his daddy, the world's ultimate multi-tasker. When I give DS his bottle, more often than not I have to hold the bottle with one hand and attempt to pry his fingers or thumb out of his mouth with the other. He hasn't figured out yet you can't suck your thumb and suck a bottle at the same time.:teeth:

How about when you walk into their room and they're STANDING up in their crib? My youngest, DD 10months, did this to me one day a couple months ago. I went in to get her from her nap and there she was standing up in the crib, just smiling away! (My other two stood up somewhere else first, so we already knew they could do it.)
But, once they can move, you're done for! :p
By the way, my DS also did those "crunches" you are talking about. He started sitting on his own the day before he turned 5 months. Have fun!!

Oh we're having lots of fun. About two weeks ago, we went to go see his pedi for the 4 mos check up. We were cleared to start rice gruel...er..cereal. He's discovered he can blow that stuff all the way across th e kitchen which is lots of fun for me and DH to clean up. :p

When he's on the floor, I can see how badly he wants to go some place. He's been able to spin himself around from a N-S heading to an E-W heading for three or four weeks now. He wants to go,go go. He just can't get there yet. But he's trying! :p

Oh yeah, that rice cereal is great. ;) NONE of my kids liked it, they all went to oatmeal about 2 weeks after they started the rice. My niece loved it though, so I guess you never know.

I just went to go check on him since he's napping and wouldn't ya know it..that kid has scooched himself from one end of his crib to the other. He's also 'talking' in his sleep..making all kinds of noises but he is totally out. :p

He HATED his rice cereal at first but now I guess he's kind of resigned to eating it whether he likes it or not. Now when I say "Open up..here comes the spoooooonie!" he actually opens his mouth a little bit. This morning, he blew cereal all over me and then just grinned like it was the greatest thing in the world.

::yes:: A wonderful surprise, wasn't it? And they are just standing there, waiting for you to come in and see what they have done! Such sweet memories you all are stirring in me...:wave2:

Yes, I love it when they get all proud of themselves for doing something new! DD 10months just took her first steps on Sunday, 4 of them, to her big sister. Both she and DD6 were so surprised, it was priceless. Of course, I didn't get the first attempt on video, but we did it again and they had grins just as big the second time! ::yes::

I would think he'll be an early sitter too since my daughter did those crunches, moved herself on her back, turned 360 degrees on her back, and was sitting on her own a week before she turned 5 months. Actually, she was able to use both hands to play while sitting at that time, but sitting using her hands for support about 10 days before that.

About the video/DVD camera, you have to get one! I make my DD and DS say hi to camera so when they get married or have a baby I am going to make my DH splice all the "hi camera's" together along with the answers to what is your favorite color and favorite thing to do questions I ask. Not to mention the numerous firsts we have caught with camera. Yes, camera is a member of the family!

My older DD wasn't very mobile until about 6mths. The youngest made up for it by scooting at 2mths. She actually sat up late though because she was never in one place long enough to sit up. Finally she started a kind of sit / crawl. She'd crawl then sit for a minute and get down and crawl again.

The days of being able to have them stay in one place doesn't last long at all.

If I sit him on the floor or the couch (with me watching and sitting next to him of course),I can sit him up and he'll put his hands in front to hold himself up. He kinda tilts to one side or the other still, but he's getting closer I think. :)

Oh...and for those of you who I mentioned my nephew LittleBitty to...he's up to 7 lbs and eating 4-6 oz per feeding now!:bounce: He still can't be around a lot of people as his immune system is still a bit fragile but he's getting SO big and less wrinkly. Now he actually LOOKS like a baby instead of a shrunken old man. :)
