Once and a while I go on some magazine forums just to read stuff or whatever.
Well, I've stumbled upon the new 'it' diet. It's called the 2468 diet.
You have 200 calories the first day, and so on and so on. (200, 400, 600, 8000
You trick your metabolism and lose weight.
It kind of disgusts me... I mean 200 calories for an entire day. My breakfast, is usually about 200. Sometimes more.

Ugh. Also the damage it must do to your metabolism..
 
So the point of this thread was to tell all of us that you disapprove of equivocating with one's metabolism?

200 calories in a day? :faint:
Even the 800 calories is nothing; less than half of the recommended daily intake. :O
That's crazy.

Yeah, cause that is going to do so much long term good. Why do people believe it when anorexic hollywood skanks tell them that starving yourself is the answer to a healthy and attractive body but don't believe it when dieticians, people who have actually studied it, say that the trick is to raise your caloric expenditure to approximately 500 more kilocalories more than your caloric intake per day and exercising in ways that build muscle tone? It makes no sense to me, and this is so completely ridiculous it pains me. I have very little doubt that this will have major damage on the body long term, and the short term affect would be awful as well. 200 calories is barely enough to sit around on the dis typing messages all day, for someone completely done growing and in perfect health, with a healthy bit of energy stored in fat. That's just dangerous, and any girl desperate enough to try it is putting the final nail in her coffin.

Don't these people ever think to just drop down and do some push-ups instead of starving themselves? If anybody I knew tried this I would take them to McDonalds and shove a sausage biscuit down their throat!
 
Haha... I eat at least 1200 calories when I go to Wendy's. And so people know I weight 145 and I am 5'9" and I play sports so I need the calories.
 
gah. fad diets are icky. Want to lose weight? lessen your calorie intake to something healthy (you don't really need 2000 calories a day, but you need at least 1200.) and then work out for thirty minutes every other day. YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT. I promise.

But this is what's happening to me,not voluntarily.
My metabolism is seriously whacked up.
Chemo messes up your body so bad it's not funny.
I'm nauseaus all the time,so some days I may only eat 300 calories, the next day 600, and so on and so forth.
I can't help it, I have no appetite and I'm not hungry.
I can go the whole day eating nothing but a piece of toast. I hate it!

Unfortunately,this diet will probably work.
I know from expeirience(sp) that eating such little calories for about 3 days will cause you to lose about 3 pounds.

Fad diets are gross.
And the people who encourage them have serious issues.

The people posting on those boards are losing like 3 a DAY... well, at least they claim to anyways. A lot of them aren't even trying to hit their 200 or 400 mark.

200 for a day?
That's ridicolous.
Plus if you do manage to only eat 200 for a day then you'll be starving and probably binge the next day(that might just be me, i have food problems i.e over-eating. xD)
 
i could never do that. my metabolic rate is so high that i need about 4000 calories daily. i would starve if i ever tried it, and im sure im not the only one. honestly, i get about 2,500 calories daily, so my weight is already borderline (on the low side). most people dont realize that theyre the same way. another thing is, the sideffects can be horrible. when i eat less than usual, i cant get up stairs without my friends carrying me at school. im late to every class because i have to sit down in the middle of the hallway to rest before i can go on. i cant think straight, and words spin on the worksheets or in the readings im trying to get done. basically, the effects are far greater than losing a few pounds (though i do that and have to see a doctor, as well). fad diets disgust me
