Can I just vent here for a moment?
Last night,I went out with my friend and her mom to go shopping at Kohl's.
Since I started chemo,I haven't been able to go out that much,so going out shopping to a mall or something is a big deal for me.
Anyhoo, lately my knee has been giving out on me.
Maybe it has something to do with the tumor, maybe not.
Who knows.
Last night, after about 2 hours of walking around,my knee started to hurt and was on the verge of collapsing on me.
I quickly said "Heidi,go borrow that wheelchair please" and I was sitting in 10 seconds.
I keep doing my shopping, and hold some clothes for my friend Heidi.
Now we thought we saw an old neighbor of ours who we hadn't seen in about 5 years, but brushed it off and kept shopping.
So we go into the fitting rooms to try on our clothes and see that the wheelchair accesible(sp?) room was open.
We roll the chair in,put our clothes down, and just as we're about to close the door, guess who comes out of nowhere?
That's right,the old neighbor.
Now you're probably wondering why she's freaking out,it's just an old neighbor.
Not the case.
This girl was a b**ch.
She may have been only 8 or 9,but she would make fun of us like you would not believe.
She is a LARGE girl, (nothing against the large or chubby,i am chubby myself) and I can tell you,it is fat,she has not grown into a womanly figure at all.
Her whole family is large.
Well she goes,"Uhm,this is MY room"
Heidi and I said,"Oops, sorry,we'll get out"
Then her b**ch of a mom goes "Well you better get out,her jeans are in there"
We were just like ***??
It peeved us off soooo bad.
I was always taught, that if in a wheelchair accesible fitting room, you have the room and the person in the wheelchair needs it,you get your hiney outta there and let them have that room.
I was astonished that
1)They would DEMAND that room in that manner.
2)They didn't even offer to let me in the room.
So,if you were in this position, would you be peeved off also?
And would you offer the room to a person in a wheelchair if needed?
Sorry it was so long.
It was just so aggravating.

.
I'm shocked that someone would even do that! That's like, discrimination (sp?), not letting someone who's in a wheelchair in the wheelchair changing room!
