So I used my Blackberry all day and somewhere between the time I got out of my car and the 20 feet it takes for me to walk in my house it stopped working. The keyboard and the trackball won't work. I tried taking out the battery for awhile and tried a new battery and nothing. I of course am up for a new phone in 12 days.

I had the same problem a year ago with my phone, I went the Verizon store the guy pulled up my acct, looked at it and said that he would send me a replacement. I go tonight and the woman tells me that I am not an authorized account manager on the acct (it's a family plan) and she can't really do anything for me. The only thing she did was have the tech replace the trackball which didn't fix anything. I do find it funny that they have a "tech" in their stores that can't really do anything to at least figure what the issue with a phone is.

I was reallly hoping that they would just let me get my upgrade now or at the very least do what they did last time. I really hope I can find my old phone, if not I will be phoneless for a week and a half.

ugh, that happened to me on vacation once. I landed at the airport, turned on my phone and the trackball or keys wouldn't work at all. It was awful, I couldn't call anyone or even answer my phone. Thankfully the person that was picking me up wasn't waiting for a phone call since I didn't know her number, I was used to just dialing her Name on the phone!

Call Verizon customer service and tell them what happened. They can put a note in your account that will allow you the early upgrade. You might need to have the 'authorized' person do this, but it can be done. The authorized person can add you to the account, too, while they are at it.

Once they note your account, you can go into a Verizon store and pick your new phone. Problem solved.

My dad called last night after I got home from the Verizon store and had me added as an authorized person.

I got it to work after I left the battery out overnight. I am going to try and call Verizon today and get the early upgrade.

You can add authorized people on your online account too. DS18 had a problem with his phone when he was away at college this year and he wasn't an authorized user. He called me from the Verizon store and they said to just go online and add him. It took about 6 seconds and they could then help him right away.
