FedEx didn't want to do the printing -said it was copyright issue- I had to get the manager - said it was for personal use on a Disney cruise and they approved....anyone else have this issue? Oops meant to say door decor in thread title not fish extender....

and I further assume you mean Kinkos or something other than FedEx?

From what I understand: Most places will not take money for printing Disney trademarked items which includes characters, font, etc, it's illegal for them to do so. Just because it's for your personal use, you are paying them for it so they are profiting with no permission.

I'm not a copyright lawyer, I could be totally wrong, but that's what I've been told.

I printed my own at home to avoid this. I think that's what most people do.

Also, I see how this could be totally random whether the person working actually cares or is aware of what the policy is. Probably depends on what you are actually printing too.

Technically, they are not supposed to print anything that is covered by copyright.

Just curious, but how would printing places know if you have permission or not? Eg I have some licensed Disney digital scrap booking artwork which I paid for legitimately. With that I am able to use it to make whatever I want - scrapbook pages, birthday party invites, t-shirt transfers etc.

There's nothing that came with the software that I can print or give to anyone that shows I have permission, but it is legitimate.
