What are Atkins dieters eating for breakfast? I can't eat another egg for awhile...

I was able to eat eggs for the first part of my Atkins dieting, then developed an allergy/reaction to them. I eat mostly meats for breakfast, the breakfast bars, shakes. I also have eaten left-overs from dinner.

Hi Shan - I made the Atkins lemon poppyseed muffins last Friday. They're very good - expecially warm with butter. I ate too many at first and didn't lose any weight this week, but I also started lifting weights so I'm not going to worry about it. About once a week I have Atkins waffles with no sugar syrup. A couple of times I've had a hamburger for breakfast, and I've also had the spicy meatballs. It seemed weird at first, but then I got used to it. What about some fresh deli turkey (not the processed kind) with Allouette cheese spread on it? That's one of my favorite snacks.

Okay I know you said no more eggs but I like this breakfast when I want something alittle sweet - I found it on another Lo Carb board.

Sweet induction breakfast

2 eggs
1 oz. cr. cheese if you use whipped you get more for your carb dollars
1 T. butter
1/2 t. vanilla
1 packets Equal (the original recipe called for two packs - so adjust to taste just remember carb counts)

Melt butter in skillet. Beat eggs and 1/2 packet Equal. Pour into skillet and let cook on medium low- do not stir. Meanwhile, stir cr. cheese, vanilla, and remaining Equal together. When egg looks done, spread cheese mixture over it, allowing it to melt a bit. Take a spatula and, starting on one side, roll up the egg, crepe style, and remove from pan. Enjoy!

Its actually pretty good - you know for eggs!

Van's lowcarb waffles w Keto strawberry jam

Atkins almond cereal w westsoy unsweeten soy milk

Mini carb granola w/westsoy unsweetened soy milk

OsoLow sweet roll w/ whipped cream cheese

carbsense hazelnut hot cereal

Cheese toast made w/Lifestyle low carb bread

I eat something called "mock danish" that I read about here. It is 1/2 cup cottage cheese (I use ricotta cheese, tastes better, but is a little more for carbs), 2T chopped walnuts, and 2T sugar free maple syrup.

I like this because it is quick to make and eat. I can only eat the eggs once a week, so I know what you mean!

I like Keto brand oatmeal substitute. (I've only tried the apple cinnamon flavor so far, though.)

I've sometimes used boiled toasted ground flax as a hot cereal. The taste is good (especially with Atkins fake maple syrup and butter or margarine), but the texture takes some getting used to. You could try mixing it with wheat bran or with one of the low carb hor cereals that are being sold these days.

Thanks everyone. Is anyone having problems with weight loss stalling using some of these low carb breakfast items listed in the above posts? I have been avoiding the bars since I had a stall that lasted three weeks. I stopped eating the bars and I dropped three pounds in less than a week. So you could say I'm scared to try anything right now!

The only problem might be the cereals since most have sugar alcohols in them.
I like the Carbsense hot cereals better that the keto hot cereals since the Keto have sweetener in them (as in the sugar alcohols that can stall weight). I use stevia in it instead of artifical sweetener

Another possible cause of a stall is food allergy/sensitivity. If adding a food back in your diet causes a stall you might be allergic to it.

The Keto cereals have sucralose in them, but no sugar alcohols. Sucralose itself weighs very little (it's the last ingredient in the Keto apple cinnamon cereal, after cinnamon and such), so the calories in the sucralose itself shouldn't be a factor. If there's some other way for sucralose to cause stalling, I haven't heard of it.

Flax seed is just flax, of course.

As far as I can tell, *everything* make me stall, and I only lost reasonable amounts of weight in the very beginning of my diet, so I don't have any useful information there.

Oh, yeah -- another "breakfast" food that I like (I tend to eat it for dinner rather than breakfast, though) -- Morning Star Farms breakfast patties. I can't tell you whether they taste like real sausages or not, though, because I'm a long-time vegetarian and have never tasted real breakfast sausages!

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! I LOVE quiche (I know...another egg dish!), flaxmeal bread w/ cream cheese, mock danish, breakfast porridge, LC yogurt w/ crushed Atkins cereal (for a granola taste), cheesecake (yes, I do eat cheesecake for breakfast!), & LC waffles with sf syrup. I have a HARD time deciding in the a.m. what delicious dish to eat!! :)

I'm curious - how do you make a hot cereal with ground flax seeds? That sounds very interesting!! Just what I need......another breakfast dish to add to my list of favorites!!

Should add that not all of these would be appropriate for induction...........

LOL... had to wait until I went to the store so I could look at the keto hot cereal. I swear the one I had contained sugar alcohols. Must have been a different brand thatI had or had looked at.

This AM I had a LC waffle with cream cheese and 0-carb chocolate syrup and 2 links of sausage.

I eat leftovers from supper the night before, mock danish and cheese burgers :)
