We just tried to book a trip for Easter week and nothing is available! Oh well, I guess it's just not meant to be. I can't really complain since that would be our 5th trip to WDW this year.:rolleyes1 Have fun everyone!princess:

Well at least you found out there is no availability meaning it will be way crowded vs getting one of the last rooms available & being there with the crowds.

DH & I went once the week of Easter (we left to come home on Easter) & it was our engagement trip. The weekend before was great, minimal crowds but by Thursday you could see the crowds picking up & I had never left a park prior to closing before that trip.

Easter eve we were at the MK & by 10 pm all the rides had lines at least an hour & the crowds were horrid. So sadly I left the park 2 hours earlier.

We vowed to never go again Easter week or any other holiday.

I booked a couple nights at the Swan last Easter on short notice. I even got a late checkout on Easter Sunday. Deluxe hotel. DJ played at the pool all weekend. Lots of activities. Beautiful hotel/grounds/location. AND i had a rate just under $200 for Easter weekend I thought that was impossible. You can always try the hotel direct if the websites online are not showing anything. Good luck ; ):;) :dance3:

By Easter week, do you mean the week prior to Easter or the week following?
We are booked the week following and I really am hoping that it is not going to be masses of people....

We went last year the week following Easter and found the parks to be crowded, but not nearly as bad as people predicted. We used EMH, FP and our resort pool in the afternoon. We saw just about everything we wanted to see. Lines were long for somethings and not for others. I won't wait in a line once it gets to be 30 minutes. We are pretty laid back and figure anything we don't see, we'll see the next time. (We go about every two years) We had a great time, weather was fabulous. FWIW, we went again the third week of June and the crowds were not all that different, slightly less. The weather was not great though. I would pick the week following Easter anytime over the end of June.:)

Just being in Disney is great.

As far as booking...I would keep trying.....people do cancel!:thumbsup2

If you have travel flexibility, check for cancellations. Although, if there aren't any rooms available now, imagine how BUSY it will be. Perhaps it was meant to be that you go during a less busy time. :)

Thanks everyone! I just figure it wasn't meant for us to go but I can't lie. I will be checking for cancellations!:lmao: By Easter week I meant the week between Palm Sunday and Easter. We have gone the week after Easter and it was fine.princess:

We are arriving ON Easter Sunday and staying for the whole week til the 15th.........I sure hope the crowds arent ridiculous!!!!!!!!

We are too! See you there!

To the OP - if you could go the week after easter (8th-15th, I guess) there seems to be a lot of availibility. We are currently booked at BWI but DH expressed an interest in WL and I checked on it and every room category was available.

That's great news. We're headed down too (6th-13th). We've done this week before (2005) and it was really crowded. But the weather is worth it and we just relax and enjoy. Not the time to do commando touring. To the OP, I hope you can get what you need.

We thought of changing the dates but I already took my ds out of school twice this year. Even though it's pre-school there is alot he has to learn before kindergarten. We figured if we could go on a school break we would. No biggie. I wanted to squeeze in one more trip this pregnancy before I couldn't fly anymore. I am planning on going in January depending on my ds's school schedule and that will be a long trip and we will have our new bundle of joy with us!

I wish I could have picked a different time to go, instead of a week that was considered "peak" season ( I could have saved myself a bundle ) but unfortunately, my son 13 is graduating 8th grade this year and our school district will NOT let students make up assignments or do them ahead of time, family vacations are NOT excused. And my 12 & 9 yr olds are step-siblings and DH only gets them every other spring break, one week in the summer and one week during Christmas break. I can't imagine not taking them, so we had to work with what we had available.......the good thing, at least around here, is that more and more schools (elem, jr high & hs) are getting away from the "traditional" spring break consisting of good friday and the week after Easter, and going earlier in March........ours still has the traditional way, so most people I know say it wont be too bad because more and more schools do their "spring break" in March, so then "our" week is getting less crowded as time goes by.......I hope they're right!! Either way, I don't care, crowds or not, it's the only chance we'll get to have all four of our kids (along with my sis, her family, and my mom & dad) all with me, so I'll enjoy it no matter what!!!!!!!

You will have a fabulous time. As long as you go with the flow and are relaxed, it will be great. Do morning and evening EMH's and rest in the afternoons. Last year, Easter Sunday, MK was open till 3 a.m. for EMH, the park emptied, and I mean emptied about 11:00. If you can stay awake ;) then you will do fine. My SIL stayed till 3:00 and they walked on every ride that was open.:woohoo:

Hey we''ll be there the week after! I was surprised to see so many having the week before off-- it is that way around here too(but not NJ) So we are going and hoping it won't be as bad as 4th of July when we usually go. But we can deal with crowds.. heck we are a crowd(6 in my family!:grouphug: )
