You know my story... Dec 9-16 (Sat-Sat) out of MSP.

So Airtran came available a week or two ago at around $260-ish for the times I liked. Still wanted to wait for a bit, it's only June, see if things went down a bit.

Those of us who are anal like me check the darn airfare at least twice, if not more, per day. Well, today, the lowest fare was $243 on Airtran ( not my times, just the best fare), then it was $279 and I just now checked again and it's $304. WTH?!?!?! :confused3

Yeah, I'm going to spend $304 on a flight with a stop when I can spend $20 more and fly SC non-stop. :rotfl: Like I'm pleased to spend over $300pp period. :sad2:

The sucky part is, is that there are flights in July going for $217 according to kayak.com. Now I haven't checked those flight times, because I am sure they suck, but I'm still peeved about it.

And no, I didn't buy airfare yet. But I'm beginning to think I better think about it before SC and NWA decide to freak and go higher, too.

My story is that I have tickets on Airtran MEA week (Wed-Mon). Both directions sold out of the lowest fares VERY quickly as expected. The lowest fare was $170 each way without taxes for a few weeks. All of the sudden, the flight back has some of the lowest fares back on the board. Keep an eye on them and things will come down (I hope). Your dates are not holiday dates, so hang in there, I think things will work out.

P.S. It is nice to meet another anal planner out there. Heck, I don't have any flights to book, yet I check daily. Everyone I know gets ahold of me when they want to book a trip! Actually, I am currently waiting to help my HS Baseball team book a spring break trip for 2007... they paid $330 or something like that in 05 and I hope to help them save some bucks!

duds...you and I, kindred travel planner spirits. :thumbsup2

It's a known fact in my circle of friends and family, if you are going somewhere, call Mary first. :goodvibes When my mom is planning a trip, even the driving ones she and my dad take, she'll call and say, "Is the travel queen available today?" :teeth: One of my best friends, we are both with The Pampered Chef...each year our director features the top 10 people in her group and we have to give her little blurbs about ourselves. Last year my blurb included among other things, "Sandy Campbell's Personal Travel Agent". :lmao:

We seem to have similar roles in the lives of the people around us. ;)

This airfare thing is driving me batty...before (and I know, we can't use "before" and apply it to anything nowadays) I always booked my airfare for December around March/April because that's when I always got a huge drop in my rates. This year, everything's been high from the get-go.

Tell me about you two. I also check several times a day and still haven't bought for our december trip. Would perfer nonstop but price would be nice too. can get NWA for 260 but with real sucky times.
