Ugh! I think MS messed up my reservation! ~ Update 10/10

I called MS yesterday and booked SSR for 4 nights and requested to waitlist for BCV day by day. 2 of the 4 days were available at BCV and I thought I was going to have a reservation for the 6th at SSR, the 7th at BCV, the 8th at SSR and the 9th at BCV. This morning I decided to check online and all it showed was all four days at SSR.

I just got off the phone with MS only to find out that I wasn't given the 2 BCV days that were available yesterday and that today nothings available!

I'm so I really want to stay there!

Okay......I called MS to check see what was available for different dates and she told me my waitlist matched up at BCV for the 7th and the 9th (these are the same dates that were available Monday, unavailable Tuesday and now magically available today).

I just couldn't go on that type of waitlist. If the rest of your days don;t come through, you'll be moving every day

Each to their own desires, but I agree with Chuck. I would stay in one place and go to the other resort next year.

If you HAD been given a reservation as you thought you had, you would have had 4 different reservation numbers, one for each day. IF you don't have 4 reservation numbers, only 1 that was for the SSR...is it the same reservation number that is showing up on the web site?

I would call again and ask to be sure that you are on a day by day waitlist for the days at BCV. They won't be able to tell you where you are on the waitlist, but they will be able to tell you if you are on one.

I'm hoping for some pixie dust and that at least the 8th will come through. Then at least I would have 3 consecutive days at BCV. Since this is a solo trip moving twice wouldn't be so bad. But I have faith in the waitlist, even though it hasn't worked for me yet.

Does anybody know if I could do a cash reservation for the 8th but still waitlist to use my points and then if the 8th came through on points I could cancel the cash ressie and if the points ressie doesn't come through at all I could keep the cash ressie?

You can cancel with full refund for the cash ressie up to 5 days prior to arrival. After that, it's a penalty of 1 night stay plus tax. That is my current situation while waiting for a studio to open Nov. 8-12.

Be careful because even if you have a cash reservation, you may still have to move and won't be able to stay in the same room.

Keep in mind that Studios are part of a 2-b/r lockoff unit. Suppose you get a room where someone next door has the 1-b/r but they are checking out the next day. That next day the party checking in is using the 2-b/r, meaning you have to check out, and possibly move to another studio that is available for that night.

The key is being sure everything is linked so that it 'effectively' appears as a single reservatiion. You can link your DVC reservations and a cash reservation that you get through DVC. However if you get a cash reservation thru CRO, I'm not sure if you can link it.

I'm so excited. My waitlist came through for the 6th and 8th for a studio at BCV. I called MS to check on it and she said that "low and behold" there was a match! This is the first time the waitlist has worked out for me!
