Remember a few weeks back I posted that I received an email about being on a research panel for the Disney Cruise. Well, on Monday, I went out to my car after work and noticed that I had missed a call on my cell. It was a 404 number, which is the area code for Atlanta. My first thought was that there might be a problem with my daughter since she is in school in downtown Atlanta. Since they didn't leave a message, I went home to check the home phone answering machine. There wasn't a message, but when I checked Caller ID, the same phone number was on there. I decided to call the number and see who it was. When the lady explained who they were, I realized that they had been calling me about the research panel. The lady told me that they are still calling people and asked for my name and number so that someone could call me back. Needless to say, I never heard anything from them. The really stupid part is that in my original email, I told them to call me after 1:00 PM because of work, and both calls were made around 11:00 AM. UGH!!! I missed the call, and today is the day that they are in town doing their research! For all of you that are on the panel...have fun! And let us know all about it.

Hi Holly,

I'm on the panel at 2 PM. We went back and forth about the time and my qualifications, etc. At first it was at 9:15, which knowing traffic as you do... Anyway, all is well.

I'll post my experience. I'm really excited. (BTW, I emailed them when I was originally rejected and explained that as a DVC member, and 2- going on 3-time cruiser, I know I could be of help. It seems that persistence paid off!)

Haven't been on a market research panel (advertising) in years. Curious to see how this company does it.

Well, I was ushered into a board room with a computer. I expected others to join me -- no one but the moderator and me! I was specifically selected to review their proposed, new website! It was really fun since I'm on the computer all the time and obviously, on these boards, as well as others! (I mentioned Passporter, Castaway Club and Dave's DCL).

We looked at useability, layouts, info, etc. Lots of questions. Sometimes, I didn't surf where they wanted. (It was hard since I didn't have my reading glasses on!) They really have some great ideas, but I voiced concern, for example, on booking completely on the web -- even airfare. (I prefer to talk to a human.)

Since we buy our trips on DVC points, they need to address that.

I told them that the other sites have floor plans and menus, etc. which those who really want to get the details, would be interested in.

It was fun. Certainly a worthwhile experience and I hope, that I was able to give them ideas... I don't know when the new website is coming out, but we talked about the new DVC site coming out next week.
