ugh, I hate water.

I love Propel--the grape is awesome.

It does, however, contain sucralose, which is an artificial sweetner. It's the generic name for Splenda. Just FYI in case you avoid artificial sweetners for health reasons.

Yes, it also contains acesulfame potassium (Sunnet), which is another artificial sweetener, along with the sucralose (Splenda). They combine the two because the mixture helps hide the bitter aftertaste each has individually.

Incidentally, the Dasani and Aquifina flavoured waters also have artificial sweeteners.

Ugh! You guys just ruined my drink! Just kidding--I didn't know that, but my reasons aren't really health reasons, just I leary of it. I don't drink too many of them........I guess that's ok........bummer, though! Why do they have to hide it like that?!?!?:confused3

If you dislike water, you'll never make it. I don't like plain water either so I always add a Crystal Light packet to mine. Right now I'm loving the Fruit Punch flavor, but I like any of the lemonades or ice teas. They are all good. Try them all out - you will like them a lot!

I hated water for years, LOVE it now.

I, too, had some MAJOR acid reflux and other gastro issues and my nutritionist insisted that I substitute all drinks with water. It changed my LIFE. It took awhile, I like it with lots of ice and now I drink it all the time.

BTW, my nutritionist noted that if you put ANYTHING in water, it becomes a food and not just water and I'd have to make up the glasses :scared1:. I decided to tolerate it and after awhile, it became second nature.:thumbsup2

What do you mean by 'make up the glasses'? Do you mean that it doesn't 'count' as water? How does that make any sense? Your body is still ingesting the same volume of water whether it is alone or alongside a small amount of flavouring.

That's what I told her!! :confused3 Nope, she said if I added a food additive I'd STILL have to make up the water. Why? She said the body metabolizes the food differently. I'm no nutritionist, I'd love to have someone tell me otherwise! :thumbsup2

From the Mayo Clinic:

" 8-ounce glasses of water a day. Another approach to water intake is the "8 x 8 rule" — drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day (about 1.9 liters). The rule could also be stated, "drink eight 8-ounce glasses of fluid a day," as all fluids count toward the daily total. Though the approach isn't supported by scientific evidence, many people use this basic rule as a guideline for how much water and other fluids to drink."

Also,
The following article talks about how the recommendation of 8 glasses of water a day is probably based on false assumptions, and that much of the water intake we need can come from the food we eat:

That being said, nowhere does it say that drinking water is BAD for you. I think I feel better when I drink more of it, and it is the perfect no-calorie beverage :)

I've started drinking at least 8 glasses a day for more than a month now. At first it was hard, but now it's not bad and I find myself actually drinking even more than I have to. I find myself naturally grabbing water instead of other stuff.

Hang in there!!! It WILL get easier!!

It will be MUCH healthier for you!

I've always hated water too, but after a very serious bout with dehydration a couple of years ago I had to force myself to drink it.. At first I couldn't stand it - actually made me feel sick to my stomach - but I stuck with it and now I can drink it all day long (even warm) and it doesn't bother me anymore..:thumbsup2

I do have to drink bottled water though because the water here tastes absolutely terrible!
