UGH!!! I got BAND CAMP this week!

I have my first ever week long band camp starting monday and I'm not really looking forward to it! I'm on the flag squad and we will be outside in the 90 degree weather learning routine after routine. There are only 2 good things about my high schools band camp.... u get to see ur friends, plus on thurs night we get to go to Blackbeard's cave (a little amusement park thingy, sortof like a boardwalk, but w/o the boardwalk!) for free with everyone in band & squads! I cant wait for that!!! ( but i will be GLAD when its over!)

we have band camp..but we don't actaully go to a camp...just up to school everyday!
btu we start school this week! AHHH!

I went to band camp when I was in high school and hated it soo much b/c the hours were so long. We went from 9-9 and had an hour lunch and 2 hours for dinner. I was on the color guard team and we always seemed to be working much harder than the band. I remember when everybody would be in sectionals and the band would be off sitting under the trees, taking many water breaks, and then the guard would be twirling and sweating on the parking lot. Ugh. In the end I guess it's all worth it. My brother has it next weekand I know he is not all ready for it. Have fun...and think about the wicked tan you'll have!

I hate band camp, but anyone that likes it likes band a little too much. We have 2 weeks. And I know what you mean about some parts working harder that others. I'm in drumline, and the other people in band always know their music before us and act like they're so good, but they don't get to practice 2 hours early on the day of competitions and have an indoor season in which we practice about 4 times a week, for as much as 5 hours a day. Thanks for letting me vent.

I feel your pain! im not in the color gaurd but i play tenor sax. we start next week its from 9am to 9pm we have an hour lunch and a two hour dinner it gets so hot and i get so brunt. im with ya all the way. good luck!!!

i just relized my sis wrote too. yes funkyrooster i am ready for band camp and just to clear some things up no the color gaurd did not work hard and yes the band did work there butts off!!! Sisters!! what do they know!!
