So after checking out the Universal Boards a little, I just realized Universal took away the FOTL access (one per day) from hotel guest on the HP package. They are claiming it was never offered. I understand they can take it away (fine print of making changes) but to lie and say it was never offered? It WAS in the package details and they did not even let us know they took it away from us. I'm THIS close to canceling my trip trip to universal. My 11yo really really wants to go or I would have canceled already.

Cancel. And tell them why.

A BUNCH of people are upset about this.

I am happy to report that they are offering FOTL to Make a Wish kids, though. So that is something encouraging.

They take that away and I won't ever set foot in the place. :snooty:

That's BS! Stuff like this is why Universal can't hold Disney's jock. Ridiculous. I had two days at US planned before our week at WDW. I think my WDW vacation just increased by a couple of days!

That does stink. When I booked Portofino back in February I was specifically told by the reservationist we would have one FOTL on FJ per guest per day. I also asked a Team Member last Saturday after getting off of FJ when FOTL would be implemented. She said she wasn't sure and it maybe months before it is offered. The one silver lining is you get the hour before it opens to regular day guests. That is a big advantage, but it still stinks they are not doing what they advertised.

We had planned 3 days at US before the cruise way back in Jan/Feb, but decided not to.
Very glad we did.

That's a tough one. If it were just me, I would cancel, but I know how it is when an 11 year old really wants to do something. Do you still get into HP an hour early as a resort guest? Maybe it would be okay, just run to FJ as soon as you get in?

I've never been to Universal. I was planning on going for HP, but I reconsidered after hearing different things. Like poor Aaron getting up at 5:30am because a phone message at his hotel said HP would open at 6am and then no one knows a thing about it and it doesn't open until 7:30??? I mean the phone message was FROM Universal! I would have flipped, Aaron was much calmer than I would have been. It just seems they do things so carelessly. It really turns me off. I think it would be VERY cool to see HP, I'm just in no hurry now. I might go one day.

I agree with cancelling and telling them that as the reason. That way, the better the chance they'll do something about it by the time I'm there in October. ;)

Aaron - is the early entry part of a special package or just for onsite guests. We're staying at the Hard Rock for a couple nights in August. I'd be ok with the early entry, at least it would help a bit.

US seems totally unprepared to handle WWoHP's popularity!! What did they think was going to happen when they opened it?!?! Unbelievable that they would take this away from the package holders. I know they offered it because it was in the email I received and we seriously considered booking it because if this perk. However, in the end I just couldn't bear the idea of not being on Disney property after our US days. We are staying on Disney property and still planning on going to US for the first 2 days of our Disney vacation. My oldest DS is a huge HP fan as am I. We are prepared for the long lines and will just be at the parks super early and make the best of it. However, I'm SOOOO glad I didn't book on-site. When will Universal get a clue!!

I'm confused are you talking about FOTL for just harry potter or all attractions at Universal studios?

He's talking about FOTL really just for Forbidden Journey at Harry Potter.

I'm confused... all of the initial DIS podcasts said that FOTL would not initially be offered at WWoHP.

Ok thanks! I got worried there for a second. When I booked the Wizarding World of Harry Potter package i didnt assume the FOTL pass was included. I think it should be for onsite guests.

I won't be there until December. You cancel then maybe it will be ready for me :thumbsup2

When I booked my package I was told (it was printed on the website) that I would receive 1 FOTL pass per day per guest for FJ.

FOTL is included for hotel guest, but as a perk FOTL was also included for FJ once per day per guest. They have since taken that away without telling me and are lying and saying it was never offered.

That 11 yo is the only thing holding me back! I would be on the phone right now if it wasn't for him.

In 20 years, your child is not going to remember that he had to wait on line, but he will remember that you took him.

I know, I know...I'll go most likely, but I'm still PO'ed!! Don't get me started on those kool-ade drinkers on the Universal Board next....Shelly!! I need you!!

In 20 years your child won't remember that you didn't go to Universal those 2 days either. It's not like it's your only shot at going.
