Ugghhh...need unisex grab bag for $25!

So the adults in my family ( ranging from 35 to 80) are doing a grab bag this year. I don't want to do gift cards or movie tix..any other ideas??

Hubs just got his coworker for a secret santa gift of a donation in their name from www.water.org. It was $25, and it gives a person access to clean water for life. Tax deductible, too. It's the charity that Matt Damon is a part of. :thumbsup2

You know your audience better than we do but something that always seems to be popular when we do a Pirate Gift Exchange/Dirty Santa is anything "as seen on TV". Yes, most of it's junk but it's usually something everyone is curious about and wants to try/play with but would not get for themselves. I know it sounds nuts but I've seen it happen more than once that the 'scramble an egg in the shell' or the 'microwave pasta cooker' was the gift most stolen. Go figure.

Gift cards, food and alcohol are my go to gifts for generic gift exchanges. There's only so much you can do with 25.00. I'd probably go with a gift card like Visa or Am Ex and attach it to something cheap and silly/cute like a Chia Pet or holiday socks.

:thumbsup2 I'm going to do this for my next Dirty Santa! Thanks!

I always go with As seen on TV stuff and it's always a hit! They were bogo half off on Black Friday so I have Pajama Jeans for work and microwavable slippers for my Mommy Group!

Is it one of the swaps where you bring a gift and people get to take another person's gift? If so I love those. A few years ago we did one, gift cards were not allowed, and everyone fought over, believe it or not, a set of screwdrivers. They're happily residing in our basement. :rotfl2: They were also excited about the set of flashlights. :confused3

People also love the latest crazy as seen on TV gift of the moment. :happytv:

You cold also do this: http://www.burtsbees.com/Holiday-Sa...efault,pd.html?cgid=outlet&start=1&q=#start=1

Tervis tumblers are nice. You could put something in it. I really liked the post office stamps idea, because I hate having to buy stamps!

... something cheap and silly/cute like a Chia Pet

They have some really funny Chia Pets out this year - if I was involved in purchasing the gifts for our office holiday event this year (similar grab bag type thing, but all gifts are purchased by the company), there would definitely be a Duck Dynasty Chia (or two) in the mix.

Another thought is one of those sets of PEZ dispensers - I've seen one of the KISS guys as PEZ, or Star Wars, or....

Just my opinion. What's the point of getting someone a $25 gift card from AmEx? It's like getting $25 cash, really not even a gift?

Everyone is different! I like getting gift cards because than I can go and get what I like. One year two of my friends from work got me gift cards and i bought 2 purses that I wanted that was on sale.

I have a friend that is giving the move "Christmas Vacation" -Along with a green jello mold with cat food in it.

Pancake mix, maple syrup, tea, coffee, biscotti, jam, english muffins, etc. I did this a few years ago, and it was a big hit.

The past 2 years at DH's family exchange, I brought something Baltimore Ravens(we are all from Baltimore and pretty much everyone in the family are huge fans). Last year, I had a Baltimore Ravens snowman- it got stolen so many times and was the most popular thing at the exchange. The year before, a Ravens Santa, same thing. So this year I went on Etsy, and got these Ravens snowman people things, they are super cute, and thinking the same scenario will hold true. So maybe some Christmas something from your local sports team. :thumbsup2

This is a great idea! If we were to do this with my family, a Cornhusker item would be loved by most! I would think about getting one of the collegiate or NFL themed garden gnomes, I think many people love them!

We did these several years in a row where I used to work. Anything snowman related was very popular and was the fought over item every year. I like the idea of sports related snowmen. Other popular items: cordless screwdrivers, small car vacuums, and gift baskets- like Cracker Barrel and Bath and Body. My friend thought her Bath & Bodyworks basket was safe because there was only 1 guy left to pick, but he stole that for his wife! My mom just bought a tool bag with tools included at Sears for $25. I think anyone would love to get that. I'm always needing a hammer or screwdriver for something around the house and my husband keeps taking mine. I like the iron skillet idea. It's something anyone could use to bake in and everyone eats!
