With the Magic Your Way Tickets....we can not decide which ticket option to purchase!! It is 5 of us so everything is expensive, but do we go 3-day hopper plus or spend the same amount on a 7-day hopper. Seven days seems like a little much! this is our FIRST TIME going! Please let me know what you think!!! Thanks

The minimum I would buy is a five day park hopper. But, that's just us! We like two days at MK, one day at Animal Kingdom, one at Epcott, and one at MGM. If this is your first trip to WDW I think you would want more than a three day. But that's just my opinion. Hope this has helped. :wizard:

How is 3-day hopper and 7-day hopper the same price?
Don't get the hopper option though and plan a park a day. You can upgrade when you get there. Go for a week... :) Also if it's going to be hot, get the plus pack to go to a water park a couple times.

I agree with Tinkerbelle32. For a first visit, plan on two days at MK, one day each at AK, MGM, and Epcot.

Park hopping is a nice add-on if you've got young kids so you can go back to the resort for an afternoon swim/nap and then head to a different park in the evening. How important is it to you to go to the water parks? If you might go to one water park, then check out the prices for one day admission. If you're going in the winter, you aren't likely to use any Plusses at all.

Personally, I would go for a MYW for the number of days I plan to be at WDW (minus any days I plan to be at Seaworld, Universal, etc.). Also, I would pay the extra for Park Hopping.

If finances are a concern, you can get the base MYW tickets and then pay to have them upgraded at Guest Services at WDW -- say get a 5 day MYW and then when you get to WDW, you can pay the extra and get the tickets upgraded to add Hopping or Plusses.

I hope this helps!

How much are you thinking each ticket will cost?

There are some wonderful special ticket sales going that might help you out a bit.

How old are your children? If this is your first trip and they are young, it probably won't be your last...especially if you are just going for 3 days!

Could you please post where it is that the wonderful ticket sales are happening? I would love to get a lower price if I could. Thanks!

If you go to mousesavers.com and sign up for the MousSaver's Newsletter (free) that comes once a month (on the 15th), there will be a special link in the Newsletter that gives you a lower price than anyone else receives for TicketMania's tickets. Right now they are offering their 10 day and 7 day premium (fully loaded with 5 waterpark/DQ/PI days, hopping and NO expiration date) tickets for a very nice rate.

Three days won't be nearly enough. I'd go for a 7 day park hopper (or even just a 7 day) and focus on enjoying the parks. IMO, the plusses are nice but not worth sacrificing 4 days in the parks!!

From Ticketmania.com:
  • 3-day MYW Premium (expiry); includes 3 park hopping days and 2 Plus visits. Cost: $253/$220 (adult/child)
  • 7-day MYW Hopper (expiry); included 7 park hopping days but no Plus visits. Cost: $234/$196
  • 7-day MYW Premium (expiry); includes 7 park hopping days but 5 Plus visits. Cost: $279/$240
The 3-day MYW Premium pass will give you (at most) 5 days of entertainment. The 7-day MYW Hopper, while costing less, will give you 7 days of entertainment but no visits to Pleasure Island, Wide World of Sports, Disney Quest or the waterparks. Unless any of those venues are an absolute priority for your crowd, I would recommend the 7-day Hopper for a first timer. There is so much to see and do, that you will want to re-visit every park.

Well, what I meant by same price between the 3-day hopper and the 7-day was...
3-day hopper plus = $980.00 (estimate)
7-day hopper = $1,059.00

There is not much difference in the price!

How important is it to go to the water parks and disney quest and all those extra places?? Is it worth it to pay the extra for the plus feature? Our resort has pools and a slide...and we cant go to pleasure island with the kids...so how great is Disney Quest?? Thanks so much!

Thanks for the heads up! I signed up for the mousesavers the other day!! Maybe I will just wait for that before I order the tickets!

SeaWorld is a completely separate park - not associated with Disney - and you have to buy SeaWorld tickets, separately from any Disney tickets.

The 7-day Hopper is cheaper than the 3-day Premium The 3-day Premium is not the same thing as the 3-day Plus. The 3-day Plus does not include park hopping. It is not the same kind of ticket as the old "Park Hopper Plus" passes were. I just want to make sure that I understand exactly which tickets you're considering, because I'm uncertain as to what you mean by a "hopper plus".

3-day Plus.........Ticketmania prices: ($227/$192).....Disney Prices:$230.04/$193.83
3-day Premium...Ticketmania prices: ($253/$220).....Disney Prices:$267.32/$231.11
7-day Hopper.....Ticketmania prices: ($234/$196).....Disney Prices:$237.50/$198.09

No, Seaworld is run by a different organization. But if you'replanning any days away from the Disney parks, I wouldn't purchase WDW tix for those days also. For instance, if you'll bein Orlando for six days and wat to go to Seaworld on one day, then I would get the 5 day MYW tix and 1 day tix for Seaworld rather than double-covering 1 of the days. (Unless your kids will feel like going to WDW in the evening after being at Seaworld all day long -- mine wouldn't. Or unless you want to squeeze in more park time on a day that you arrive or depart.) Basically, I'm saying that unless you get the Non-Expiring option, you shouldn't pay to have extra park days that you won't use.

You haven't mentioned what time of year you'll be going or the ages of your kids. If you go in July, the parks are more crowded and you may want more days so that you get to see/do more. In January (after the holidays), the parks are less crowded and you can see/do more stuff in less time.

For a first visit with young kids, I would plan on 5-6 days at WDW with park hopping priveledges and maybe throw in a trip to Seaworld, if that would interest them (in fact, that's my general itinerary for our upcoming trips -- 6 days at WDW in April and 6 days at WDW and 1 at Seaworld in Sept). We plan 2 days at MK, 1 each at AK, MGM, and Epcot and one day left open to do/see anything we didn't already and/or reride our favorite rides.

With older kids (preteen/teen), I would definitely consider Disney Quest, one or more of the Disney water parks, and/or Universal Studios.

I hope this helps!
