Uggghhh! Flight cancelled :(

I'm so frustrated!! I just got an email 6 hours before flight saying that the flight my flight is cancelled due to "weather". Somehow they managed to book us on a flight out of a city 2.5 hours away. Skies are clear all over, not sure where this "weather" is. Really messing up my plans! Just gotta roll with it I guess.

Which airline? Weather was bad in Florida yesterday, the Daytona 500 was delayed for hours. Most likely the flight that was bringing the plane to your city was cancelled last night so it's not there this morning to take you.

I would call and ask them to reschedule you to your original airport.

What airport were you flying out of and which airport are you flying out of now? (My daughter works at the Shreveport airport).

As previously mentioned, weather was bad in central Florida yesterday. Most likely, your previously scheduled flight took off yesterday from your home airport, and could not make it back home last night.

Unless you're flying out of a major airport (ie New Orleans), I wouldn't try to rebook at your home airport. Chances are, you wouldn't get out until at least tomorrow...at the earliest.

My guess...your home airport is small, and your rescheduled flight is at a much larger airport. Either New Orleans, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston or maybe Little Rock.

I remember when daughters were teens and baton. their group was involved with a football bowl game. the flight back from Florida was canceled because of snow in that city and plane could not get to Florida. think it is bad to redo for a family try a group of 30 on the day after New Year's. weather can affect flights no where near the bad weather

We were originally to fly from Alexandria to Houston then Houston to Orlando. We are 45 min from Alexandria. The next flight available out of there was the 26th, two days later! I had them book us from Baton Rouge to Houston instead and we drove the 2.5 hours to Baton Rouge. We figured if the flight from BR was cancelled we would just end up driving down from there. I was soooo stressed out! But it all worked out in the end....so far! We still have to get back home. We are having a blast though, so it's all worth it!
