We have started to notice these creepy little buggers in the kids bathroom and occassionally in DD bedroom. Has anyone dealt with these? Can you handle them w/over the counter sprays or do you need a professional exterminator? I have a low threshold of tolerance for bugs INSIDE my house...Iknow, I know, you all are snickering and saying, "and she wants to move to FLORIDA!?!?!"...I have accepted the fact that I will factor in monthly fees from my fav Orkin man if I am lucky enough to ever re-locate....
Anyway...can anyone help me out there? DD has been sleeping on the couch and it's getting ridiculous.

We get them every once in a while. They seem to travel solo. I think you can get OTC spray to kill them. I let our exterminator know so he can do something. Living in TX you almost have to have exterminating every 3 mo.

I've lived in the south my whole life and had never seen one of these things until we moved to an island...(still considered part of Savannah, weird, too long to explain) and they do seem to travel solo, however, I have seen teeny tiny ones, which suggests they are multiplying!!! I usually just squish them, as they don't run away, not sure if sprays would help or not.

I moved to FL in March, bugs are not the problem I had heard before moving. At least not yet! The only bugs I have seen are ones that were in our boxes, I think. Terrible thought, to have brought the very pests you wish to leave. I am seeing earwigs around here now...usually I just kill them and hope for the best.

I just had the same problem as well, mostly in older dd bedroom. We do have a bug man and we told him the problem.
He "dusted" our attic. He said they eat the glue that is in the insulation. Also if you have wallpaper and a silverfish issue they will eat all the glue backing off.

So far it has helped. Good Luck

I HATE Silverfish!!! I find them in my bathroom sometimes. I won't see one for months then all of a sudden I see one or two, yuck. I've never sprayed for them though, they don't seem to be a problem yet :(

Interesting about the wallpaper - I did not know that, thanks. I'm going to let my exterminator in on this because apparently he didn't learn at bug school!
