I posted previously that I tried to make ADRS for Breakfast and could not. Well...I called Boatwrights directly and was told that as of Februaury 21st they are no longer serving breakfast. We are so upset....we LOVED eating breakfast there. It was convenient and delicious!!!!! It was one of the main reasons we loved POR!!! The CM I spoke to was upset about it too and she stated the staff was just told and they are all upset!

If you like Boatwrights, PLEASE email Disney and complain about another bad change they are making!!!

:sad2: What that can't be right because they cater to both Riverside and FQ and that would take away a breakfast sit down, not that I doubt you, but can any one else confirm?

I hope this isn't true! We LOVE breakfast at Boatwright's! I know that we could get Tonga Toast at Kona, but when you stay at POR it's so nice to walk to Boatwright's for that breakfast.

Can anyone else please confirm this?

My DH will be very disappointed. We did not like dinner there and would never go back for that, but he really wanted to try the sweet potato pancakes for breakfast this year.

Bummer, I had the BEST french toast there a couple weeks ago. However, it doesn't surprise me because there were only maybe half a dozen parties there. It was practically empty. I'm sure that's not the case during peak times, but most of the staff was just standing around.

I have 3 ADRs there over spring break (4/3-4/11); I hope it is not true :sad2:

I know...this just stinks!! I tried making the ADR twice and could not so I finally called them directly. I would love for someone to call and get a different answer but I spoke with the hostess so I think it is right.

That would be a true shame. I LOVE the Sweet potato pancakes. The best thing ever!

Please, say it ain't so!!!

It's not a trip to WDW without Boatright's sweet potato pancakes.

I am arriving in Disney 2/21 and leaving 2/28. I tried to make a reservation for Boatwright's for breakfast and could not (this was yesterday). The CM was confused and checked for me. She then CONFIRMED they were no longer serving breakfast.

So if you're hoping it's not true, TRUST ME it's true.

I'm staying at POFQ and am bummed there is no sit-down breakfast for the resort anymore.

After reading this thread I thought I better call and make one last ADR at Boatwright's for breakfast while we are there, Feb 14 - 21. After finalizing my ADR I asked if the rumor was true that Boatwright's was no longer serving breakfast after the Feb 21 and she said that, unfortunately it IS true!

That figures. DH and I are staying at POFQ in Sept. and I was considering adding breakfast there to our list. (Mostly because I just learned that they serve something similiar to Tonga Toast .)

The last time we stayed at POFQ we had planned to eat at the TS restaurant on site. (Don't remember the name.) But they closed the entire restaurant shortly before we got there. I believe that was 2000.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I loved the banana stuffed French toast.

We'll certainly miss breakfast at Boatwright's.

This is terrible. The sweet potato pancakes are a highlight of our trip. Plus, it's really nice to sit down and enjoy a nice breakfast!

geez...ok first trip to WDW this May and so far have had to cross P&P Party, Space Mountain, TTA and now Boatwrights sweet potato pancakes off my list. What next?

The last time they had an economic turndown one of the first things to go were the character breakfasts and breakfast in general at some of the other resort resturants. What a shame. Those never did return. Boatwrights is always a favorite breakfast spot for us, even with DVC--and most breakfasts in the room-- we make the special trip there at least once per vacation. I will miss it, and I know DH will be saddened by it as well. The end of Sweet Potato Pancakes such a shame. Well so long as cuts are made to save enough for Iger's bonus.

What a joke. What an absolute joke! I'm so mad right now. I would LOVE to hear the rationale behind this decision.

Um; too few people were dining there to justify paying the bills? Now they don't have to pay the people they lay off. Yes, it stinks, but that's the economic realty that so many hospitality companies are looking at right now.

Yes it sucks that there's one less choice for breakfast, but I would ask if those menu items (banana french toast, sweet potato pancakes, etc) are being added to other outlets or other restaurants.

I don't know if the sweet potato pancakes are offered elsewhere, but the banana stuffed French toast is available at the Polynesian at both Kona and Captain Cooks.

Now I'm shopping around for a new-to-us breakfast to try on our next trip. We'll miss walking down to Boatwright's.
