UG crowd predictions

This is the first time I've ever seen the above mentioned sight. I compared it to the allears sight of which parks are the best and which ones to avoid, but they conflict. I have used the allears sight for previous visits and have done pretty well. Has anyone used this sight and what was your experience. TIA.

First time I saw this as well. I would take it with a grain of salt. Since I live in Florida, all of my trips are over the weekend, and I have learned through personal experience that you NEVER go to the MK on Saturday. EVER.

I also noticed they had very low crowds indicated for October, which has really not been the case the past few years. Between MNSSHP, the Food and Wine Festival, and convention season, October can be quite crowded (as indicated by the fact that Disney doesn't even consider it value season anymore).

thanks len i was kind of hoping you would reply..im feeling much more postive about our upcoming trip now...i hate crowds but i think i can handle 3's..we're used to jersey week < like 10 yrs go not the recent jersey weeks> im tihnking a 3 cant be too much more crowded than that

All of the books came out before the creation of the new morning & evening hours. That could have an impact on crowds. Looks like Len's site has taken this into account & is constantly tweaking & updating as more info is known. It looks like that website will be better then any book currently out.
That being said, the books provide a wealth of other info so don't NOT buy a book b/c the "best days" info may be inaccurate.
It will be interesting to see what, if any, impact the new extra hours will have on crowd levels.

Well, I bought the book and I check the site occasionally for updates and I agree that they seem to be on top of information. I realize nothing is guaranteed but its still nice to not see any 8, 9, or 10 on the days we are going. Thanks Len

:guilty: Looks like it's all 8's for our 1st trip to the world. But then I expected that since we need to go in the summer and I've read in all 4 of my WDW guidebooks to avoid the summers if at all possible. Oh well, having never been there before, we won't know anything differently, so we'll probably be ok. :cloud9: (we'll shoot for hitting the parks on Tues.-Sat. so thanks for the heads up to avoid MK on Sat.).

I am thrilled to see that our upcoming trip is projected to be all 3's. I can't wait! All of our previous trips have been in JUne or July so this should be incredible.

Well, I gotta say I'm a bit disappointed! We planned for the 2nd week of March thinking it would be a low-crowds time, but the UG is showing it to be at least 6. Poo. Oh well, I've dealt with crowds before (Hershey Park on a Saturday in Summer :scared1: ) and I'll jsut have to do it again! Although I tend to get a bit, well, testy in high-crowd areas; if any of that stuff happens around me that's mentioned in the "shock" thread, I pity the fool!

Aw, come on macfamily.....you expect me to follow a Mr. T quote? How's a guy supposed to do that? :confused3

But really, a 6 at Walt Disney World, how bad can that be in the overall scheme of things? I'd take it any day!

Len

Today was suppose to be a 3 for MGM and the parks were quite crowded, definately not a 3. I think its all a guess right now with the new hours and changes.

This predictor is awesome..made me feel better about my decision to spend V-dya in magic kingdom rather then epcot (cause epcot has EMH). I will admit I was feeling a little anxious about that one!

Len,

Just curious, your chart states as a rule to avoid the MK on holidays because it is a crowd magnet (which I agree with from past experience). However, during our Columbus Day week trip, the chart says that on Monday, October 10th (Columbus Day) MK is one of the best parks to visit. :confused3 I don't understand. Help!

crzy4mk, good question. I'll take a look at that. My only question would be whether we consider Columbus Day on par with, say, Christmas and Easter in its ability to draw crowds. Give me a day or so to look it up, as Bob's just back in the office from a couple weeks out.

Thanks!

Len

Great Site.

Thanks for the link!

I'm all 4's -- I can't wait!!!!
