Uff Da!

I feel jinxed. I sneezed 3x and yelled Uff da! It dawned on me I say it every time I sneeze like that. hehehee

Sven and Ollie jokes, anyone? Anyone hear the one about the pickle factory? I have a sweedish freind who's mom thinks "UFF DA!" should be yelled every time she takes a picture.... 1, 2, 3 UFF DA!!

Count me in as one who says it and hears it a lot!!! Then again I live in an area that was founded by Norwegians and has a lot of Scandinavian blood runnin' through it! In fact our annual Scandinavian festival, Nordic Fest, is going on this weekend. Can't wait!!!!!

I had never heard it until I started dating my husband. He is from the Wisconsin penninsula....Norweigian territory at it's finest. He even has a trivet with a whole bunch of "Uff Da" sayings and meanings. We've been saying it regularly for 18 years now...kids even say it and they're not sure why.

We even have a refrigerator magnet with "Uff Da" on it. We were at a street festival in Hendersonville NC and there was a booth run by the Scandinavian Society. We giggled when we saw the magnet and had to have it. The woman we bought it from thought it was just as funny that we actually knew the expression and used it!

I say Uff Da often. My husband's mom had a plaque with the Uff Da saying on it. His grandparents came from Norway.

There are a lot of Swedes and Norwegians here. Sven and Ole jokes are common here.

OK, I'm about to freak you out.. I have that same magnet. I got it from a Norwegian festival in Hendersonville, NC. (this one was inside a church) AND...my name is Linda, too.
