Uber vs bus

With the heavy rains this week we opted to have the Uber driver drop us at the TTC rather than the CR. One morning worked well with a short line for the monorail. The next morning we walked up and the monorail line was SO LONG. Luckily, there was a ferry just starting to load. I have to say - it was the only time we've ever gotten to MK faster on the ferry and the Monorail! But if you don't have inclement weather, have them drop you at the Contemporary and walk. Very quick.

Help me please?
1. Getting to MK from an offsite time share, would you drive or uber?
2. Going to T&TC then monorail to MK, whats the time frame? and then paying to park...wondering whats the best option?
3. According to google directions we are 15 minutes away from contemporary resort. So why contemporary vs bus parking area? or is that not an option?

Thank you, so anxious about our trip in 2 weeks and first time off property!

I've been using Lyft to move around for the last two days, combined with use of the Express bus transportation has been a breeze. Always less than 5min for my ride to arrive.

Also before arriving I activated a discount code that gave me a discount on my first ten trips so I've been averaging something like $3/trip (plus tip). So far all 5-Star rides.

Lyft and Uber are pretty much the same thing.
Lyft affords you the ability to tip via the app, no cash needed. Uber does not. To me, a pretty heavy user at Disney, that is the only difference.
As for tipping, a driver performs a service, no different than a server in a restaurant or a hairdresser. I am going to go out on a limb and assume you'd always tip for those services. So yes, you always tip for Uber/Lyft. At least we do. As I do not feel comfortable to give cash, and with conversations with drivers I know many would much prefer to not have large amounts of cash on them, we stick with Lyft so we can tip via the app. That way, no one is out there with cash and opened up to theft. Just feels safer all the way around.
I tip $5 for trips around property. Higher than many I'm sure but I know drivers make very little of the total cost of an avg trip ($7 for us)

3. The bus parking area is only for buses. Your car will not be allowed to enter that area.

We always drive, but we have 30-something trips under our belts! I personally like the freedom and flexibility of having my own car, although Ubering gives you the same thing for a modest fee. Your choice.

I've actually never paid much attention to it, frankly. I'm guessing that driving to parking, walking to the tram, tramming to TTC, waiting a bit in a monorail line, monorailing to MK -- 45 minutes to an hour from paying at the booth?

That's a guess, someone please correct me if I'm off.

If you drive, you have one option -- park, tram, TTC, monorail or ferry. By Uber/Lyft, you can be dropped at TTC or the Contemporary. You can't go to the bus dropoff.

Relax. You'll be at Disney and you'll have a great time. What resort?

Is the cost per person or just per ride? Sorry I'm such a newbie , trying to decide if we should rent a car. Sounds like it's easier to uber/lyft than rent, but with 3-4 of us good to have all info. Does the app tell you how much it will be?

Cost is per ride, just like a Taxi
The App does give you a price, though I can't recall now if it's a firm price or an approximate one. I never bother to use it. I'm taking the Lyft/Uber no matter what so I don't bother to check the cost. I know it's not a lot and know it's way less than a Taxi. Nothing else matters. Having used Lyft A LOT, Uber quite a bit, the past couple of years, 90% of our trips on property are around $7. This is without discounts. If there is a promo running, they go down. Rare for any ride on WDW to go up.
