Uber questions for LAX pick up

Never having taken Uber or been only once years ago at LAX could someone tell me the procedures to get an Uber to pick you up at LAX. Where do we go after we order the car? Where in the airport? We are landing at 12noon on a Wednesday in July by Virgin America, which is Terminal 3, I imagine we go to baggage claim and then what, do we order the car after we have our luggage and where would we meet it? Trying to get a visual of what we are supposed to do. Does Uber give you a grocery stop? Or would we need to make another arrangement for a separate car to take us to a grocery store or Walmart, what is closest to DLH? Would it be cheaper to order from Von's or take an Uber? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There are 4 designated signs on the departure or upper level where you can meet an Uber. If they pick you up anywhere else they can be impounded. You should get your bags on the arrival level, then go up and use the app to order when you're at the stop so they know which one. Uber drivers have a designated spot to wait for the app to ping them, then they drive to the meeting point.

Once you HAVE your bags, then request the car vis the Uber app. The app will tell you where to meet your driver. Once your request is accepted, sometimes the driver will cal you right away or there is a "contact driver" button where you can call or text your driver to work out exactly where you are.

Typically Uber is not a wait at the store kinda service, but personally I would ask the driver once you are in the car if a stop is possible and offer them a decent tip for the wait if they agree. Totally up to the individual driver. Uber is all over the DL area, so another quick uber to a store after you check in then one back would be quick and easy.

Make sure you request the proper Uber level of service you need. If you have a party of 3-4 with larger bags, you will probably need an Uber XL for the bit larger car. When requesting a car I think to myself..."can we fit in a Prius?" (even though many cars are often larger)...if not I request UberXL.

Thanks for the replies! I think we'll need an UberXL, there's 4 of us (2 adults, 1 teenager, 1 child) but will also have my collapsible rollator, so I think UberXL should do it?? The rollator takes up the same room as a collapsible stroller. Any thoughts? We really don't want to go back out when we get in (coming from the east coast so I imagine we'll be pretty tired). Wanted to get some lunch somewhere and then head to the parks if we have the energy.
