Uber payment issues

So I used Uber for the first time just over a week ago. Friendly drivers! Quick to get a car.

That app works really well! Except for a small gitch we had. The first day I used Uber three times with payment set up through PayPal. No problems. The next day the Uber app refused to get a driver with payment set to PayPal! I checked my account... had plenty of funds and the previous day's payments were deducted.

I didn't really have time to phone PayPal to figure it out until I was home. I set up a second payment to my CC. No more issues the rest of our trip.

Today PayPal said they did not block my account. I sent an inquiry to Uber. Has anyone run into this issue?

No but I've always used a CC personally. FWIW when I've had to contact Uber (and Lyft) in the past & I got the best response via Twitter. (I use a fake name & Direct Message my real info.)

I got a reply back from Uber. Appearently their system "dectected" i had prepaid cards attached to my PayPal account so it was declining accepting payment through PayPal.

I didn't understand what he meant at first. I had to google it. I definatly do not have prepaid cards. So I'm not sure I believe that is the real reason...

That sounds truly weird! Maybe it was just a technical screw up between the 2 systems and it will work next time you try it?

I had CC via Uber, even as I tried over what must be a hundred times linking my PP account to it to no avail.
With Lyth, there as no issue linking to PP.
On my spouse handphone, I tried linking a PP account with a new Uber account (one without any form of payment type), it also failed. Uber just can't link with PP period.
