Uber or Lyft from LGB?

I'm so happy to be going to Disneyland in February, and will be joining a group there. However, it's just me flying into LGB and I'm wondering if either Uber or Lyft service the airport? Taxi & shuttle are both a little pricey, especially after you add in tips. I appreciate any help/advice!

I think they are not allowed to pick up or drop off at the airport

Edit to add: I could be wrong about Long Beach Airport. I googled it and see conflicting info.

Right. Me too, that's why I was asking. I'm just not sure. I hate to wait until I arrive but I guess I could...

There's a sorry I found with google that lists only LAX for Uber pickups and only Uber black or limo for it. Long Beach is not listed. Also Lyft looks like it's not allowed. It looks like there are ways around it though if you do your research.

Not sure about LGB specifically, but Uber has work arounds for may of the airports like needing to meet you in the hourly parking lot or other areas of the airport. They can not often pick up in the traditional passenger loading zone at may airports unless they have an agreement in place with that airport. I fly all over the country and have yet to not be able to get an Uber at an airport in a city they service.

Worst case if you get there and can't get an Uber there are plenty of door to door shuttles on standby which is a cheaper option than taxi,

LGB is a very small airport and its an easy walk from the terminal to the street outside the airport, where Uber/Lyft can pick you up.

I was just about to suggest this or you can easily walk to the cell phone waiting lot as well.

The other option is to take a cab to the very close by Habit Burger Grill at
3801 Lakewood Boulevard #101
Long Beach, CA 90808

I believe the cabs have a $5 minimum, which this would cost and then get Uber to pickup from there.

Really, Long beach Airport is very small, the walk from the terminal to the cell phone waiting lot is shorter than the distance from the check in kiosk to the gate at most other airports.

Good to know! I think I'll do that, as I don't want to hassle with a car/parking/etc. Plus, it's much cheaper to rent a car near Disneyland than the airport if I decide I need one for a day or two. Thanks!!!

FYI, I was wondering this too and found this online - therideshareguy.com/an-airport-guide-for-uber-and-lyft-drivers/

A link on that site said you can do drop-offs but no pick-ups. So I tried it out last week and sure enough you can get dropped off there on UberX no problem but if you want to get picked up, you need to walk (.25-.5 mile) off airport grounds to Skylinks parking lot and there are lots of Uber drivers waiting there :)

We fly in and out of LGB. We have used Taxi, Limo, rental car and uber. Have you tried Costcotravel.com? We get awesome rates through them. I was able to get an econo car for $84 for our trip in Jan.

Did you actually walk off the airport grounds and get a ride to Disneyland? If so how much was it?

FYI, LGB requires a flat rate for taxis to the Disneyland area of $45. This from the airport only, and not available on the way back (LGB is in LA County and has different rules than Orange County).

So maybe get the taxi leaving, and use Uber/Lyft on the way back, since they can drop you off in front of the terminal.
