Uber on Park Hopping Days?

hey everybody,

I was wondering if anyone had ever used Uber to hop between parks/resorts? I wouldn't mind paying a little extra money if it gets us where we're going more efficiently.

Where I'm from, we never have to wait longer than 5-10 mins for an Uber and I was wondering if it was the same at Disney? This may be more efficient than using the shuttles.

Do you know about the express ride between parks. Just asking because the buses are inside the parks, and when you get them you don't need to go thru security when you change parks. So for the $25 or so a week this is a much better option for me. With uber you need to call, walk to front of park, and go thru security again. With the express bus, they are inside the park, you don't have to go all the way to the front, and you don't have to go thru security again. Plus I will assume that after two rides it pays for the uber, so you will save money. Not sure if that helps answer your question, I have not taken uber.

I have heard about the express transportation options. A couple of posters told me the lines can get insane

i've never even seen a full bus let alone an insane line. I suspect they might be looking over thinking of using it and not realizing it's people for 4 different buses waiting for the next one.

They were probably describing the direct park to park buses that pick up and drop off in the front of the park bus zones.

Express bus service allows you to skip Security checkpoints and park entrances when hopping.

I've used uber to travel between Disney resorts several times and every time was very efficient and an average of $7/ride (this was for uberX) - well worth it for the time saved, IMO (compared with taking a bus from your resort to any park, then switching buses to get to the second resort). For park-to-park hopping, though, I agree with PPs that you should look into the Express Transportation option.

Bear in mind that the express service is $29 per week per person, so the larger your party, the more it will cost; whereas Uber is the same for up to 4 persons. The Express service will save a lot more time; you just have to synchronize yourself with the schedule.

IMO, Uber does not save much time going from park to park, unless the line for the regular bus means you'll have to wait for a 2nd or 3rd bus to come. Leaving MK, you need to either walk to CR or take Disney Transport to the TTC to get Uber. Of course, you are guaranteed a seat, and peace & quiet if you want it (don't be shy about asking the driver to turn down the radio :).)

Which option is better for you might depend on the size of your party. The Express Transportation option price is per person. So the multi-day option for 4 people would be $116. You can take a bunch of Uber rides for $116.

Uber and Lyft pricing is per ride -- not per person -- as long as you don't exceed the capacity of the vehicle. With regular Lyft and UberX, capacity is 4 passengers. If you have 5 or 6, you will need Lyft Plus or UberXL -- which will be roughly double the price of X that beesly gave you above. You can get cost comparisons on RideGuru.com that are reasonably accurate.

If anyone in your party does NOT have an Uber or Lyft account set up, you're in luck. When you set up a new account, you get promotional discounts. The discounts vary, but they are typically something like $20 which can be applied $5 at a time to rides. If you set up several new accounts, you might be able to Uber/Lyft all over WDW for next to nothing.

If someone in your party (or family) has an existing account, they have a "referral code." Use it to open your new accounts and they also get something.
