Uber/Lyft - transportation from Port to MCO

We have a group of five - currently pricing out options to/from MCO-Port Canaveral. I have settled on the idea booking a limo/SUV to go from MCO to the Port because we want to be able to stop somewhere on the way and get some food and drinks.

On the way back, we are happy with any option to get us back to MCO for the best price. I hear that the cost of a Uber of Lyft will be closer to $80 vs around $160-170 for return via a limo/SUV service. However, because we are looking at a flight that departs MCO at 1230 PM I want to avoid any delays as much as possible.

Because we are a party of five and thus would need an Uber XL at least (or whatever the Lyft equivalent), will there be difficulty getting one at the Port? I assume there are fewer Ubers that can fit 5 plus the luggage.

1) when I UBER I pretty much always go XL just for extra room. IME an XL would be difficult to impossible for 5 adults with significant luggage.

2) altho UBER / LYFT do operate in Cape Canaveral area, remember this is a small town and when cruising is in full swing we get overrun EASILY on a busy cruise turnaround day. I'm a local and I would not plan this myself . . . at a minimum I'd reserve ahead of time ......

I would get a private car/ limo/ SUV if it is in your budget. The convenience is worth it.

You could book a one-way rental car with pay at the counter/free cancelation. That way, if you can't get the Uber to MCO you have a back-up plan.

Last time I cruised from Port Canaveral, the lineup for the Rental car desk when coming back to port was decently long (although we got off the ship later than I would have liked).

Try Cocoa Beach shuttle. we used them last time and they were great.
