Uber/Lyft morning travel time to TTC?

Does anyone have experience with taking Uber/Lyft from an offsite hotel to TTC on a Saturday morning? Is there a long wait for an available ride? Is there a lot of traffic? And once at TTC, is there a line to get through the entrance and get dropped off?

Basically I’m trying to estimate the door to door time from an I-4 hotel in Lake Buena Vista to TTC on a Saturday morning. I was planning to leave around 8 am for a 9 am MK opening. Lyft estimated 20 minutes to TTC when I looked this morning (Saturday), but I don’t know how accurate that is especially factoring any wait that may occur between the TTC entrance and rideshare drop off area.

Thanks in advance!

Rideshare vehicles don't enter the MK parking lot - they follow the roadway around to Seven Seas Drive and enter the parking lot that's used by the charter buses. So if I were trying to estimate travel time, I'd ask for the time from my hotel to Disney's Magic Kingdom Charter Bus Parking Lot (the name for it on Google Maps!).

Sorry, I can't help with availability of an Uber at that time of day!

Just went to WDW a few weeks ago and traveled exclusively by Uber/Lyft for four park days from Wyndham Bonnet Creek to the parks. We got to the parks every day for rope drop and I never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes to be picked up. Drop offs were quick because like Carolyn said, there are different lanes and entrances for rideshares. I have always rented a car in the past, but after this trip, I will be using rideshares from now on. Can't beat the price vs a rental and parking fees and also much easier to be dropped off at the front of the parking lot vs having to walk or take a tram.

Thanks for replying. It’s a big relief to hear from someone who’s done this exact thing several times and had a good experience 🙂

I will give you one tip...make sure you have both Uber and Lyft installed and check them both frequently when you are about to ride. I watched prices fluctuate by $10-20 several times within a half hour time span. When things get busy, surge pricing can really cause large swings. But it may be surging in one app but normal pricing in the other. This happened more at night during park close than in the morning, but I did experience it to a lesser degree in the morning sometimes as well. Just keep checking both and once you see a price that looks reasonable, jump on it. Just be sure your family is ready to go, because the car could be there in like two minutes.

Thanks for all the advice! Disboards is such a great resource.

As for leaving MK, did you go to TTC for Uber/Lyft pick up? Can you walk to Contemporary (or Grand Floridian) instead? I’ve read plenty about problems with rideshare drop off at those locations to not risk it, but much less about pick up.

Thank you so much!

When we left MK, the lines for both the ferry and the monorail were horrendous. I did consider walking to Contemporary. However, I did something better for my situation. I walked to the bus stop and got on the first bus that was almost full going to a resort near where I was staying. Bonnet Creek is very near Caribbean Beach, Riviera, Old Key West, and Port Orleans. We found a bus to OKW ready to leave, so we hopped on. This took us 75% of the way to our hotel, so my uber ride would be shorter and cheaper. But more importantly, it got us out of a crowded, surge pricing area and put us in a very quiet, cheap Uber zone. I ordered the Uber as we were pulling into the hotel and we were on our way a few minutes later. If you are staying off property, maybe even a bus to Disney Springs might get you the closest, although it might not help with surge. Those resorts I listed off would all be good centralized places to go that should have less demand, but YMMV.
