I think this is what they are called. They are the bracelets they used to give out at EMH.

Does anyone know where to buy blank ones. My daughter has severe allergies and I can not get anything else to stay on her arm. I am just concerned if she gets away for some crazy reason , someone may try to give her some sort of treat. I could write her allergies and our info on it and possibly put it on her ankle. She does not keep her shoes on either!

TIA:wizard:

Why not get a tag to put on her shoe instead?

My ds has been wearing a medical alert bracelet since he was 3 -- I got one with a clasp that he cannot remove. He will be 8 on Friday and still can't get it off by himself. My dd5 has been wearing one since this past fall and I got an easier clasp for her but she has yet to remove it herself - her's is really pretty with multicolored beads - we let her pick it herself.

With severe allergies, I would think you would want something more permanent.

They are made from Tyvek.

Just google Tyvek wristbands and tons of websites come up.

Know any nurses, aides, etc? Especially in the ER? I've seen Tyvek bracelets for "temporary" patients in the ER and day surgery areas. I think we have some at the hospital I'm at now in ICU for something. I grabbed a couple bracelets to put contact info on my daughter and stroller. I know I didn't get Tyvek, though.

In the hospital allergies are marked with a red band... see if they'll give you one at your ER or Doc's office.

I have worn a medical alert bracelet since as long as I can remember. Thank god my dd's don't have my allergies, but that's what they'd be wearing, too.

Tell your child to find a cast member if they get separated from you. All cast member wear name tags, introduce them to you dc on day 1. They will not give your child food, maybe water, but that's it.

How would knowing someone working in an ER help - unless you are suggesting that someone should just ask that person to steal this stuff out of the hospital?

Not an answer to your question, but we have a neighborhood picnic every year and one of the little girls wears a sign around her neck that says, please do not feed me or offer me food. She has allergies and amazingly enough other parents would offer the kids cookies or other goodies. It worked very well. Good luck finding a good solution.
