Any advice as to where to head in the a.m. to find the best chairs at TL? It will be our first visit to WDW and we plan on hitting TL on our 2nd day...(me, dd-7, and dh) we don't need a locker and just want a part shade/part sun spot to relax...are interested in doing the whole park, esp. the new roller coaster type ride and shark reef....where should we go when we get in the gate?

In order to get a chair, your going to want to get there as early as you can. The chairs go VERY fast. I was there 30 minutes before park opening, and there was already probably 100 people in line and they all made a mad dash for the chairs as soon as the rope was dropped to let people in. I can't remember exactly where you want to go, but I believe once you enter the park, go towards your right by the lockers. I think that's where most of the people line up. Personally, Typhoon Lagoon is my favorite water park. Bring a waterproof camera with you...Shark Reef is excellent & produces beautiful pictures.

We had a great spot at TL. When you enter go towards the wave pool but stay to the right of it. Follow the path along the right side of the wave pool to the side of it where there is a little building where the mechanical stuff to the wave pool is kept. Across from that is a little pavilion that has chairs and sand under it.......lots of trees and plants too so it is very tropical feeling. It also overlooks the lazy river. It is right next to the tunnel that goes over to the other side of the park so it is easy access to everything. Everyone kept commenting on what a great spot we had.

that sounds like a great spot! we will try to find it in June.....thanks for the tip and we will definitely bring the waterproof camera...can't wait!

We always end up right near the wave pool. I know you bare slightly to the right. Cross through the shallow water area and there's an island type area. It's there that we go-- and it's right center from the wave pool. It's not shaded too much w/ tree's. It does seem to have a lot of umbrellas though.

Our family goes to the left. There are chairs and some tables too, all in the shade about half way back along the wave pool. Either way, left or right, the key to grabbing a chair in the shade is to be one of the first in line. But my favorite place to relax is not in the chair, it's in the tube floating around the lazy river! It's a really beautiful water park - lots of fun. You'll love it!

We went last week on a sunday ... yup on a sunday!!! Got there at 11 am and got a front row chair at the wave pool!!!! Mabey we lucked out but was not busy till about 2 pm. Didn't do the new gusher ride but did go look at the reef swimming experince wait was long and you only get to swim along the top and have to swim straight across and get out! Also if you have Blizzard beach mugs or a typhoon one already bring them for the refill mug service I forgot mine at home but you can use old ones and only costs you 6 dollars ( price just went up from 5) if not the mugs cost 10 or 11 dollars and you can use typhoon mug at blizzard beach and vice versa for only 6 bucks. They had sprite orange diet coke coke and pink lemonaid not sure what else and was fast and easy at refill stations

Joann was correct about only being able to glide across the top of the water in Shark Reef, but to get just a little longer time in there, what I do is I'll swim out a little bit and then just float for a while in one spot. Swim forward a little and then float again. I've never had anything said to me, but I don't stay there forever either. Doing this, I've actually had one of the sharks come about 1 inch from my face. It was the greatest!!! (Yes, I am a shark fanatic)

The is a lot of seating over by the new crush n gusher ride. Most people seem to sit over by the wave pool and there were a bunch of seats available behind the lockers at 2 pm on Sunday. When you go into the park make a right towards the lockers and then walk behind the lockers there will be a 100-150 chairs and about number of giant umbrellas. Crush n Gusher is a great ride I have been on it about 50 times, but I go to TL every weekend for a few hours. The only complaint I would have about the new ride is it is not long enough. The have totally changed the line for the shark reef from years past. The use to let you go many times as you want without waiting if you have heard the rules but now they only take a small group 8 -15 at a time. When the lifeguard get you in line you have to play simon says(sp?) and simon says put on your mask. The shark reef used to be one of my favorites but I can do simon says so I really do not do that anymore. If you want to do the shark reef do it first thing for a short wait.

Sorry to ask possibly obvious questions, but do you just put your stuff down on a chair and leave it there while doing other things? Is this how many people do it? I would assume you would want to keep valuables in the lockers, but towels are usually OK to leave on a chair? If we are a family of 4, would it be considered rude to "stake out" 4 chairs, or just one for putting our towels down? I was just thinking we would skip the chairs and head on to the slides, etc. The park looks so big on the map, it actually looks a bit inconvenient to have to keep coming back to the same spot--is it reasonable to tote a few things around with you or does it make more sense to grab the chair after all? I was also thinking we might drive from the resort and leave a few things in the car (more of the things we might need "just on case") and maybe avoid the wait in line for a locker. How do most people do it? Any tips welcome-thanks! :confused3

Dawnrose:
Just be FAST in getting to any of the suggested spots. Shade is quite hard to come by at TL after the first 1/2 hour or so. We (when we went to TL) used to see people running so fast that they actually tripped and fell in their haste to get to a chair with shade.

We just left our stuff on the chairs and covered it with our towels, we didn't have a problem my hubby was abit worried, I look at it that your stupid if your gonna steal there as the chairs are close together you never know if someone by you is with the chairs that have stuff left on it! We left the stuff and nothing was taken or touched I also ask a lady by me to keep an eye on it while we were not around. Mabey I am to trusting but have always done this and never had a problem. The lines for the lockers when we were there were not bad you also can rent towels for a buck to if you don't bring any
