I don't know when they'll be opening, but I've heard that the slides will be the "water coasters" like the ones introduced by Schlitterbahn in New Braunsfel, TX. These water coasters were pretty spectacular. Basically, you get in a "raft" and the start down the water slide, but then, you get "pushed" back up again by massive amounts of water. Then you go down again and are "pushed" back up again by water pulses. The technology was very interesting, and it made for a very cool ride. (Not for the timid, mind you!) But I went on Master Blaster at Schlitterbahn, and I enjoyed it. My son and DH went on it numerous times. (I could only do it twice before my adventure level was tapped out.) So, if I could do it, it must not be too horrid. (I would not do Summit Plummet, for instance.)
You can see some water coasters as the schlitterbahn.com site.
My son is ecstatic that his favorite water park (Typhoon Lagoon) is getting his favorite type of water ride.
