Typhoon Lagoon

Yes, lots of lounge chairs available at no charge, especially if you get there early. I like to find a chair in the shade to use when I need break from the sun; just be sure to figure out where the shade will be later in the day when you need a shade-break!

We always try to arrive at opening. You'll have your choice of chairs.

We go to TL and BB every trip (one year we did TL twice). We go in Sept, or last year, in early October.

That time of year you can arrive at opening, or a little after, and still have plenty of locations to choose from. We have our fav. spots in each park (with a table and cover).

If you are going during the summer, do plan to arrive before the park opens so you can get a good location.

We love TL!;)

We arrived at opening and found some lounge chairs in the shade right by the Crush 'n Gusher. It was a little sandy area near a zero entry kiddie pool adjacent to the Crush 'n Gusher splash down area. There were very few people there, probably because it wasn't right next to the wave pool.

There were stacks of unused chairs there, and we had to move a few out of the way. No big deal, though. Plus, it was right next to a food stand and a couple picnic tables that sat empty most of the day. And this was on a hot Saturday.

Point me to a good shady area in Blizzard Beach. We are going for the first time and will be there at opening time. Our kids are tweens/teens so we won't be going to the younger kids section but mostly the slides.:)

Best time to hit the water parks is first thing when they open or later in the afternoon around 2 or 3 when people are leaving. If you arrive around 11 or 12, you will be fighting people for a place to put your stuff down.

When i went in 09 there were a lot of people doing the dreaded 'im going to put my towel in this lounger so no one else can use it for the entire day'
which I personally think should be banned.

When I went in 09 about a third of the chairs were empty but were 'reserved' with towels, bags etc.

Id try get there for opening time if not shortly after opening if you want a seat :)

We got to TL in late September at opening which was 10am. It didn't get noticeably busy until about 11:30-12pm. That's when trying to find loungers together would have been hard. September is also low crowds though. If you're going during a busy season, I'd get there at opening for your choice of lounger if you're not interested in paying for reserved ones.

We went a few weeks ago, did not get there at opening, and there were tons and tons of chairs. Don't stress or rush to the park. ;)

You went in early May, a much less crowded time of the year. That didn't work in early July last year.

I'm curious... what should people do with their stuff (towels, bags, etc) while they're off doing slides? They can't take it with them, putting them in a locker (IMO) is too far away from the slides.

Should they just leave stuff on the ground?

To answer the question, we usually get to a waterpark within an hour of opening and have no problems finding chairs together. It may not be a "prime" spot, but the way things are arranged, you're usually close to some slides.

If I'm not planning on sitting in loungers at all, I just find a spot on the ground out of the way and leave my stuff. Otherwise, we'll grab 1 or 2 loungers and set up our stuff. I really try to avoid grabbing 4 loungers because realistically, at most my kids might sit in one for all of 2 seconds while getting out of their street clothes as fast as possible!

Agree. I'm certainly not willing to leave my stuff on the ground. I usually like to hit the slides during the morning and then lay out in the afternoon, and maybe jump in the wave pool when I get hot. I'm not going to try to hunt for a new chair each time I want to do this because some people don't like when people leave their belongings on the chair.

I think they should put them in a locker. Surly that's what they are there for?
They are only a short strole away.

There isnt enough loungers for everyone so its unfair for someone to reserve one for the entire day. While there off on the slides someone could be making use of that lounger

Is there a map somewhere of TL? We're going next Monday, and it's been ages since hubs and I went. I can't remember the layout at all.

Here's a huge one. http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/typhoon.htm. I didn't want to post the map itself because of the size.

Really? According to the map I just posted, there is one set near the main entrance and another set near shark reef.

As far as what they are there for, it could be anything... maybe someone keeps extra clothes there because they just came from/will be heading to another park.

Maybe someone wants to keep their wallet there. How many lockers are there? Enough for everyone? ;)

Or someone who needs to lounge can walk around and find another lounger. I've never had a problem. Like I said, it may not be in a prime spot, but there will be some available. And they'll only be a "short stroll" away. :rotfl:
