We're going in August (yes-hot-I know!!!:scared1: ) and as much as I loathe water parks, my DD who is turning 7 just before our trip has been BEGGING to do one of the water parks. I did TL many, many, many years ago but it was way before children... I don't know which one is better for our girls?? They are both taking swim lessons at this time, but I know they won't be strong swimmers when we go....

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!! Thanks in advance! :)

We just did TL for the firs time with our 9-year olds. We've never done BB but that will be next for us! I know they (whoever "they" are) say TL is more for families and BB is more for "thrill seekers" but since they both have designated areas for kids under 48" I don't know if it really matters. But we really liked TL. Good selection of slides for family/less daring kids. Wave pool is awesome (but it does make a bit of a booming sound as it generates the waves - when my DS was littler that would've scared him). Only thing - lazy river is big - be sure to stick together.

I just took my 7 year old daughter and 5 year old son to Blizzard Beach for the first time and they loved it! They had a whole section just for their ages and a bit older - it was perfect. My son wore a life jacket that we borrowed from there and could do everything he was tall enough for while wearing it. They both loved the family raft ride and other slides, too. They had a little kids raft ride, climbing over iceburgs, a zip line, and a bigger slide in the kids' area. There's an area for littler kids too, but my daughter was too tall and it looked babyish for her age anyway. We spent almost 7 hours there on a cloudy, coolish day with no lines at all and they loved every minute! We haven't been to Typhoon Lagoon yet but we'll probably try that next time.

Both BB and TL are great, but my kids DS15, DD13 & DN18months are partial to TL and have been for the past 5 years. We still do BB on occasion to switch it up. Both water parks seem to having something for all ages so no matter what you choose, I think you will be fine. :upsidedow

We've done both and for kids in your age range I'd go with BB. I found their kiddie area to be a little bit bigger and move diverse as well as having the pre-teen area which your 7 year old would enjoy.

Have a great time!

Ok in all fairness, I vote BB because that is the only one we have been to. My kids love it soooooo much that they don't want to try Typhoon. Both of my kids experienced their 1st water slides at BB and both agree that it's their favorite day of each WDW trip. The family raft ride is the BEST!

We have been to both several times and my kids 6 and 3 LOOOOVVVVEEEE TL..We got to both of them just because we add it on our package and get so many days of water parks on it so why not use them? TL to me has more of the beachy atmosphere, and it for some reason is a lot warmer there than at BB..TL has better food, I like the lazy river better, the huge wave pool, swimming with the sharks, bigger kiddie section...I could go on for hours..hahaha
