Typhoon Lagoon right before closing in Oct.

Hi everyone, I was wondering about visiting TL before it closes in Oct. We arrive on Oct 23 and wanted to go to MK and AK on Wed and Thurs and then to TL on Fri. Question is: I know Sat. is the last day before the rehab...will it be crazy on Fri? Our boys are 3 and 4, so we're in the kids' area...so do the crowds actually matter? Should we consider going earlier in the week? Thanks so much for any info/advice you can share!
