Typhoon Lagoon questions

The water is pretty cold.
Some children can snorkel, some can't.

I personally didn't find the water super cold but am used to swimming in cool lakes. My main concern about the kids is the googles/snorkles you have to use.

The cleaner they use was quite abrasive and had a very uncomfortable burning sensation. I heard quite a few children in line complaining about it and a couple cried and refused to keep them on.

Can you just use the mask or do you have to use the snorkel too? I am not crazy about having my kids put something in their mouths that another child used, even if they "cleaned" it.

The snorkels are connected to the masks. I suppose you don't NEED to use them but given that it's snorkeling I imagine you'd miss all the fish.

I'm honestly not sure. I didn't see anyone with personal goggles/snorkels but I also don't see any reason you couldn't. You just pick up the goggles on your way into the line.

The water is very cold but it's a great experience! My dd did it at 7 and was fine. Just rinse out the equipment in the outdoor shower (you need to take one before getting in the water) before placing it on. Not sure if you could bring your own.

I always tell people to wear a life vest, even if you're a great swimmer. It's so much easier to float slowly across the top.

It depends on the child. If your child is a good swimmer but you are just not sure about the snorkeling itself then maybe buy a little snorkle and mask at the store and have the child practice with it before the trip. The water is a bit on the chilly side but not too bad.
