Can anyone tell me about Slush & Gusher water roller coaster? Is it scary?
Will a 10yr old be too afraid on it by themselves? It it a wild, knock you off the raft kind of ride or is it pretty tame.

Any and all info would be great. Thanks!

We rode it last year when we were there. It is lots of fun. DS was 14 at the time and a pretty big kid then so he had no problems with it at all. The only problems I had were my rear end dragging (don't you just hate when that happens) but if you hold yourself up it is no problem. The only other problem I had was at the end when you are spit out of the tunnel. I sometimes got flipped out of the tube.

Crush N Gusher at Typhoon Lagoon is a thrilling ride. It really depends what you think your 10 yr old can handle. If he can ride a tube slide he should be ok. The ride goes down like a water slide, but it has enough water pressure to push you up as well. Don't get me wrong guests do fall out of there tubes and the ride will automatically stops. However I have seen lots of young kids ride this and enjoy it a lot. Just so you know there is a height restriction and the smaller of the riders has to ride in front. Also keep your bottom up, there are some rough parts on the slide that will hurt your bottom if you don't.

As well as the bottom bumping issue, I seemed to catch a lot of water full in the face everytime I rode this. Not a big problem, especially in a waterpark, but something some kids don't like.

My daughter was 9 when she tried it. While she loved every other slide at the park, she hated this one because she is small and fits through the middle of the raft. The part of the ride where is pushes you up was hurting her -- she said she got a "spanking." She is thin and on the smaller side, but she recommends to check the tube and make sure your bottom is not resting on the slide before you ride! Other than this, she thought it would've been a great ride!

To avoid getting the "spray in the face" or "getting thrown off at the bottom" lean back into the tube and hold on tight.

After riding it 5 times I got knocked off at the end and twisted my ankle.. when I got home my orthopedist said i had a 3rd grade sprain. Pretty funny..

conversation w. MD

Oh, yeah...lift that bottom! I rode it once last May, and noticed that the rollers banged your bottom a bit as you were going up the inclines . . .but I couldn't move or shift b/c I was holding on desperately! (Anyone have any recommendations. . .before "takeoff" the CM told me to settle down further in the ring)

That night at the hotel as I was toweling off, I noticed huge (about 3 inches across) purple bruises on my bottom...didn't hurt too much-just looked awful!

Ride is fun, though. I didn't flip at the bottom, but several did. One of the shoots is supposed to be the tamest (I think that it's the one farthest to the right when you are on the platform)--I think it's "coconut."

My seven year old rode it.

As others have said it's a fun ride and our family rode it several times last summer. On our last ride down DD7 fell off right before we exited the ride and our raft ran right over her. So my advice is keep your bottoms up and hold on!
