We plan on visiting at least one of the water parks during our Oct. visit. My son is 8 and will be fine on almost any slide, but my daughter, who is almost 6, won't be. I know from going a few years ago to BB that she will need a little more excitement than the kiddie area, but she won't be ready for anything wild. She can swim about 30 feet on her own but is still a beginner. So...

which water park has more "tame" slides? I know that there is a big difference in the wave pools at each park, but I don't care about that as much as figuring out where the better slides for her will be.

Thanks!!!

Ah yes, but BB has the way better Family Raft Ride (and the Ski Lift to get you up there). The lazy rivers are nice at both, the children's play area at BB has small slides and chunks of "floating icebergs" to traverse (don't remember the play area at TL...anyone else?)

TL has a cold saltwater shark pool through which to snorkle (on top, one way)...both BB and TL have wave pools.

the Crush 'n Gusher is a roller coaster water slide that is wild, and it is new at TL.

The wave pool at TL has times when the waves are 6 feet. I prefer TL, the teens prefer BB. I think both are big enough to find something for everyone.

typhoon lagoon is a much better park he will love it as much as you! We spent a day there and only an 1:30 mins at BB. We hated bb its all sun! To many steps to get the the water slides!

Typhoon Lagoon would really be a great choice! The new crush and gusher can be ridden by two of you at a time, I think dd would love it! I agree, the best of the 2 parks unless you are really into big water slides

Typhoon Lagoon will be closed for refurb. when we are there, so I was also wondering what is at Blizzard Beach for little kids???? I have never been to BB, and would really like to take my son (5 yrs. old, does not know how to swim without floaties, 44 inches tall...)
Thanks!!
Jen

In my experience , BB is way better for the little ones, there is tikes peak with a couple of small slides and shallow water, there is also training camp which can be enjoyed by older and younger children. There is a pool there that parent and child can get in together while older children experience some of the training camp in the same area. There are also slides for kids in the training camp. BB wave pool is also much better for the little ones, the wave pool at TL will knock the little ones over. :earsgirl: ::MinnieMo pirate:
