Any opinions would be appreciated. Which waterpark has the most kid oriented and "family" areas. TIA if any replies!

I have been to both BB and TL. BB is much better for kids. The kiddie area is better much easier to watch little ones. There is also a intermediate area that your 5 yr. old will like. Many rides have double tube so you can go on with your child. IMHO TL 's wave pool is too strong for little kids and it has an extremely rough floor. Both parks are fun but BB is the best. My kids are now 5 and 6 and we go to BB 2 times each trip.

BB would be my choice. The entire theme at the park is childlike and cartoonish. The wave pool is a gentle bobbing that can be enjoyed by any age. The Ski Patrol will have some activity a five year old would enjoy. The kiddie area - Tikes Peak is a very well thought out and designed space. Limited entry in and out, close to all necessary places, lots of seating, some shade, lots of supervision and a variety of play areas PLUS slides for their size.

I'm very interested in this thread, considering my 5 yo twins. They are kinda small so I was going by height reqirements...TL had more for less than 48". We've been there before and were very satisfied just going there again but now I'm intrigued by the BB Buzz!

We just came back a week ago and tried BB for the first time. Our kids are almost 2 & 6 and they loved BB!!!!!! In fact they both cried b/c they did not want to leave!! Mind you we had spent six hours there!!! But they both just had so much fun.

Tikes Peak is perfect for little ones. You must be under 48" to ride in that area. My almost 2 yo could do all the slides there by himself! He felt so big! :) They even have a little raft slide just for them. That was a huge hit with our kids. I think they did it 20 times in a row! We found a nice shaded spot in the Tikes Peak area to make our "home base." However the shaded spots filled very quickly and we were there b/4 the 9:00 opening!

My almost 6yo enjoyed not only Tikes Peak but the pre-teen area called the ski-patrol training grounds. They had slides bigger than the Tikes area but not too big! They also had a raft slide here too that she enjoyed.

We all enjoyed BB's wave pool and lazy river. As someone else noted BB's wave pool is gentle and both kids enjoyed it as did DH and I. We rode the lazy river two different times all the way around. It is very fun.

We love TL!!! It has the shark reef if your 5yr old can snorkel. They supply everything and it is free. It is really neat and we saw lots of kids 5 or 6 there. The slides are good and there is a lot for 48in and under. The wave pool is fun if you stay back farther with younger kids. Good luck on your decision. :thumbsup2

Subscribing. I would like to know the answer to this question as well. So far sounds like BB is the way to go with the young ones. Which is good, I think that one is the easiest to get to from ASMo.

DS5 absolutely loved TL!! He really enjoyed the beach-themed kiddie area (they even give them a bucket and shovel with the kids' lunch deal) and the lazy river, and there is a cove off to the side of the big wave pool that gets lighter waves as well.

We read up on both, and felt (like Jennyvelaz said) that TL had more for under 48", and that DS would be too young for the tween area at BB. (Though based on other posters, I will probably be trying it next time!)

Have a great trip! I'm sure either one will be fun!

We went to TL last summer with then ds5 and dd9, they both had a ball. After spending some time at Hurricane Harbor this summer, I think DS5 will be a bit bored with TL. We have 2 water park days planned, so we are going to try BB first, and then let the kids pick what they want to do the next time!
