Typhoon lagoon on first day?

I wanted to make sure we could do this. We have a 6 night reservation package with park hopper plus and 5 park day tickets. On the first day we will arrive at the hotel at 9am. Can we check in and drop off our bags and head to TL?

That's a great idea. We love TL!!

We like to take a taxi to TL from our resort. I do not like being in wet clothes or having to go to Downtown Disney to take another bus.

A taxi/lyft or uber is not that expensive and you get there quick. If you get a taxi, there are generally plenty at your resort. There are not always taxi's at TL to go home, so we just get the number and call for one, when we are ready.
