Typhoon Lagoon Lazy River

I was wondering what the rules are for the lazy river. Do you have to ride in a tube or do they allow you to walk or swim? Can kids ride in the tubes with their parents?

I am not sure what the exact rules are but you could swim through it I guess if you wanted, but it would be better with a tube. Yes, I have seen people with their younger children on the tube with them, or adults pushing the younger ones who are on the tubes. It is fairly easy to get a tube, you usually only have to wait a few minutes.

I love the double tubes we used last May. My DD could float with me and I didn't have to worry that she was getting away from me. Sure did cut way down on the stress for me!

We have been down it without tubes before. It is much easier with a tube because it gives you a buffer zone when you get caught up in crowds.

There are also a few smaller tubes with enclosed bottoms that make it easier for small children to sit in.

While I saw plenty of kids just splashing and swimming their way along the lazy river, I personally don't think it would be much fun. The lazy river is quite shallow, more so in some places than in others. At one point, I had my legs down to better control being able to keep hold of a nervous ds tube. I skinned up my toes at more than one location.

My kids love to swim down the lazy river. They are 4 and 6.

I also love to swim down the lazy river and I am 28
It's definitely more relaxing w/ the tube and I usually get sick of being w/o a tube pretty quickly.
When I was growing up it's something I always wanted to do but all of the water parks I went to did not allow guests w/o tubes.
