Hello!
Very excited as I'm leaving in nine days to go on my disneyworld trip..
I didnt plan on getting admission into the water parks but then i noticed that it was included in our package, and will be bringing my suite along just in case. Its december so i'm afraid it will be too cold? Can someone who has been down there in december tell me how warm the water is.. and if it is barable. Thank you :)

well it is cool but you can go in ,lazy river is not advisable its pretty cool but so what enjoy it and just stay in the water, its cool when your out, the wave pool is ok once your in, tanning will suck unless you get out of the breeze.but just adapt to it we do every dec...or feb...

We went in December 2003 and it was fine for us, but then again being from Maine, anything above 60 is swimming weather! As far as I know, the water is heated so it would be nice IN the water and a tad bit chilly in a bathing suit out of it. Swimming in December is a novelty for us, so if my kids have their way we will be spending a day at TL next week :sunny:

My sis and I went last Dec. We didn't linger,; we just walked from slide to slide! They say the water's heated. Well, I'd sure hate to feel it if it wasn't! It felt kinda cool to me! Well, the worst was Crush N Gusher. The rest weren't so bad. We didn't do the wave pool , the lazy river or the speed slides. If I had to guess, the air temp was right around 70 or so. I wasn't cold in my suit before we got wet, if that's a judge for you.

We got there around 2 PM; place was practically deserted! We had very little wait if any, so we were able to do what we wanted and were back at Pop in our room I think it was 3:15! We then got cleaned up and headed over to MVMCP.

I am taking my suit on my next trip (12/13-17). If I have the time, I might try to do the same thing on my MVMCP day. Only thing is I will be relying on WDW buses, so it might take me longer.

We went in Mid-December 2004 and spent a day at TL. We had a blast! We had flexible plans and went on the first nice day of our trip. Good thing we did, because we had to buy coats, gloves and hats a day or two later. When we go this year, we're going to do the same thing. I make two plans for the day, one that includes TL and one that does not, that way we have options and will had that direction on the first chance we get. Also, this year my DS-11 is going to take surfing lessons before TL opens on 12/19 as long as the weather holds out. He's been wanting to do this and I know he's excited! I'll be taking pictures.......surfing is not for me!

With the exception of Shark Reef all of the TL attractions have heated water. It is kept around 80 degrees (25 C). If the day is reasonably sunny and NO WIND you should have no problems. I know that last week on Thanksgiving the high temperature at the park was about 67 but bright and sunny and we probably had over 1,000 guests.

If it is overcast and/or windy you might not like it too much while you are out of the water.

We were there twice last week and it must have been in the upper 50's or low 60s when we got there. The water was warm - in the 80s when you got in - and there were quite a few guests there. It was not difficult to find a good seat. It got a bit harder to find something in the sun as the morning progressed. I found a great place, kept my sweatshirt on and wrapped up in a blanket to read my book while my son and husband swam and played in the wave pool.

We were at WDW from Dec 13 to Dec 20 last year. The whole week felt very cold to us; 50s and 60s during the day and 40s at night. One night felt cooler than 40s. We are from Colorado and 50s and 60s usually doesn't feel cold to us, but I think because of Florida's humidity, these temperature felt very cold!! We couldn't use the water parks the whole week. We used the resort pool couple of times and it wasn't very enjoyable.

Do you know what temperature the shark reef is kept at? We went in June last time and it did feel chilly, it was so amazing though! We leave on the 10th and this was one of the things my boyfriend really wanted to try.

Because of all the residents of SR there is no pumping or filtration, and therefore no way to heat the water. It is not "kept" at anything except what nature allows.
